Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) is the largest association of business houses and NGOs working for promoting the clean energy industry in Bangladesh.

On Saturday, 24 October, BSREA organised an important meeting at Biniyog Bhaban in Dhaka. Members of the Australian Clean Energy Delegation met Mr Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Chairman of Invest Bangladesh Authority. The delegation was led by John Grimes, CEO of Renewable Energy Council Asia-Pacific (RECAP). Representatives of several Australian clean energy companies also took part in the discussion. BSREA President Mostafa Al Mahmud and members of the Board of Directors were present.

The discussion focused on investment support for Australian companies, rooftop solar under the new solar installation ordinance, battery storage and grid integration, and possible joint ventures with Bangladeshi firms. BSREA continues to work to connect international partners with Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector.

২৪ অক্টোবর, শনিবার ঢাকার বিনিয়োগ ভবনে একটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বৈঠকের আয়োজন করে BSREA। ইনভেস্ট বাংলাদেশ অথরিটির চেয়ারম্যান জনাব চৌধুরী আশিক মাহমুদ বিন হারুনের সঙ্গে দেখা করেন অস্ট্রেলিয়ান ক্লিন এনার্জি ডেলিগেশনের সদস্যরা। তাঁদের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন রিনিউয়েবল এনার্জি কাউন্সিল এশিয়া-প্যাসিফিকের (RECAP) সিইও জন গ্রাইমস। অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বেশ কয়েকটি ক্লিন এনার্জি কোম্পানির প্রতিনিধিরাও আলোচনায় অংশ নেন। BSREA প্রেসিডেন্ট মোস্তফা আল মাহমুদ ও বোর্ড অফ ডিরেক্টরস-এর সদস্যরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

আলোচনায় প্রাধান্য পেয়েছে অস্ট্রেলিয়ান কোম্পানির জন্য বিনিয়োগ সহায়তা, নতুন সোলার ইনস্টলেশন অধ্যাদেশের আওতায় রুফটপ সোলার, ব্যাটারি স্টোরেজ ও গ্রিড ইন্টিগ্রেশন এবং বাংলাদেশি প্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে যৌথ উদ্যোগের সম্ভাবনা। দেশের নবায়নযোগ্য জ্বালানি খাতের সঙ্গে আন্তর্জাতিক অংশীদারদের যুক্ত করতে BSREA কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।

BSREA Hosts Consultation Workshop on Future Skills Development in Bangladesh’s Renewable Energy Sector

The Bangladesh Sustainable & Renewable Energy Association (BSREA), in collaboration with Mentor to Impact (MTI), Denmark, organized a consultation workshop at the BSREA office under the TVET4RE (Vocational Training in the Field of Renewable Energy) project, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ.

The workshop brought together representatives from BSREA member companies and renewable energy industry stakeholders to discuss current and future workforce skills requirements, technical skills gaps, and training priorities in Bangladesh’s growing renewable energy sector.

The discussion focused on identifying industry-specific skills needs, strengthening collaboration between the private sector and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, and ensuring that future training programmes are aligned with industry demands.

Participants also shared their perspectives on workforce challenges and opportunities for developing a skilled technical workforce to support Bangladesh’s clean energy transition.

BSREA remains committed to promoting industry-driven skills development, capacity building, and stronger partnerships to support the sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector.

Representing Bangladesh at New York Climate Week 2026 🇧🇩

BSREA is pleased to share that Mr. Mostafa Al Mahmud, President, Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA), is in New York to represent Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector during New York Climate Week 2026.

He will participate in the Global Solar and Battery Storage Industry Associations Gathering 2026 on 22–23 September, engaging with renewable energy associations and global partners to exchange experiences, strengthen collaboration, and highlight Bangladesh’s clean energy transition.

He is also scheduled to participate in a Renewable Energy Roundtable at the United Nations Headquarters on 24 September.
