Stunning results from our club's recent crystalline firing.

Crystalline glaze firing is a special glaze technique that creates magical surface effects with crystal formations in the glaze. These crystals form due to the high firing temperature that is then cooled at a controlled rate to allow crystals to grow.

The size and pattern of the crystals depend on many factors and the results are always a surprise!

Thank you to Sheryl Green for the photos.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE award goes to Lauren Edmonds for her Growth and Decay entry , Forest Decay.

"This illuminated object is foremost a celebration of forest textures stemming from my fascination and appreciation of the intricate surfaces of trees, vines, leaves, and fungi that can be found in rainforests of South East Queensland. The form of the object is also inspired by the magnificent organic shapes of the flora and fungi that thrive in these rainforest environments: buttress roots, decaying tree stumps, wonga vines, and capped mushrooms." - Lauren Edmonds
