💚💙💇‍♀️ 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝘁 💇‍♀️💚💙

For Amanda, Encircle has been a place of connection and belonging for the past four years. When she was recently diagnosed with cancer and began treatment, that sense of community became more important than ever.

At our Winter Warmer event, Amanda accessed a range of supports, but one moment stood out. Receiving a haircut as her hair began to grow back after chemotherapy helped her feel special, supported, and more like herself again.

Just as importantly, she spent time with familiar faces in a community that has embraced her throughout her journey.

As Amanda shared, "the staff always make me feel welcome, cared for, and connected. I don't know where I'd be without this wonderful community.”

Stories like Amanda's remind us that sometimes the smallest acts of care can make the biggest difference.

💙💚 🏠 𝗔 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 🏠💚💙

When a 75 year old woman recently connected with Encircle's Homestay service, she was living in unsafe accommodation and facing homelessness.

With the support and advocacy of our Homestay Senior Case Manager Ana, her social housing application was prepared, submitted, and prioritised.

Just one week later, she was offered a one-bedroom social housing unit.

Now living close to her doctors, friends, and support network, she has regained stability, independence, and the security of having a place to call home.

This life-changing outcome is a reminder of the power of timely support, strong advocacy, and compassionate care. Together, we're creating brighter futures, one home at a time.

Just because you are homeless or sleeping rough, it doesn't mean you don't count when it comes to the Census.

That's why Encircle is supporting the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) during the 2026 Census Homelessness Count, which will take place this week during Census Week.

As part of this work, ABS representatives will be attending our centres to provide information and support to community members who may wish to participate in the Census.

They will be available on Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th August at Encircle Redcliffe Neighbourhood Centre (morning) and Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre (afternoon) for anyone who wishes to participate.

While the Census helps Australia understand the needs of communities and informs future planning, it is important to note that participation in the Census is entirely voluntary for community members accessing our services.

Our role is to provide information and facilitate access where appropriate, not to pressure or influence anyone's decision to participate.

If you want to participate in the Census but don't have a fixed address, drop into either Lawnton or Redcliffe this week.

Encircle Community Services is offering FREE one-hour appointments to assist eligible community members with completing their tax return online.

To be eligible:
✔️ Simple tax returns only
