A structured change in direction. Same vision. New route.

A pivot is not failure. It is what you do when the evidence says the current path will not get you there. You keep the mission. You change the model, the market, or the product to match what you have learned.

The signal is usually quiet. Customers using the product in a way you did not design for. A small segment that loves it while the broad market shrugs. Pivots come from listening to what is actually happening, not what you hoped would.

Key Definition. Minimum Viable Product.

Startup Lab Cohort 2 EOI closes Monday 15 June, 9:00am. If you have a venture worth testing, apply now.

The simplest version of your solution that delivers enough value to test with real users and gather meaningful feedback. It is not a half-finished product. It is a learning tool.

The most useful MVPs almost never look like the final product. A landing page that asks for an email. A spreadsheet that runs the workflow manually. A WhatsApp group that replaces the platform. A hand-drawn mockup walked through with five users in a coffee shop.

The point is the same in every case. Test the core value proposition with the least possible investment. Get evidence. Decide what to build next based on what real people did, not what you hoped they would.

MVPs fail when founders confuse small with incomplete. Small is the goal. Incomplete is the trap.
