Queensland Assamese Association. We are a Community organisation based in Queensland Australia. Most of us more or less trace our roots back to Assam or the North East of India.

Queensland can legitimately claim to be one of the most multi-cultural states of Australia. Among this cauldron of communities resides a tiny Assamese community. Assam is one of the most beautiful states of India. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, she is gateway to the north east of India - an ancient land full of mysticism, beauty and some jolly good company. Queensland Assamese Associat

ion is a community organisation bringing people from Assam and North East India together in sunny Queensland. In a lot of ways, Queensland is quite similar to Assam. The laid back ways, the natural beauty and people who like a bit of food and a beverage. Our cover page is a collage of Assam and Queensland. If you can spot which is which, you are a true Assamese Queenslander.
