Not only did our Volunteers support the Sausage Sizzle on Sunday but today in the sunshine they came to setup our facility, to entertain many of our clients for Seniors Month celebration. The photos show the brilliant effort our small community of like minded people can do to give joy to our clients. Our door prizes were an added bonus with a quilt made by our volunteer Yola, a gift hamper from Coolum Coastal Hairdressers, our member for Ninderry Dan Purdie and our Federal member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien donated hampers. Drinks, tea and coffee accompanied our Chef Marcus delicious treats. Thank you Coolum Meals on Wheels volunteers for your dedication and support and to our Manager Gerard who keeps us all ticking and the President and Committee on track. Not to forget our volunteer who walked our neighbourhood with scissors in hand to ensure our tables were decked with flowers.

What a wonderful team of Volunteers at Coolum meals that made our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle such a success in raising funds on a very wet Sunday 25th of October. From 8am to 4pm the shifts kept coming and selling over a thousand sausages to wet and hungry customers of Bunnings.

Today we received congratulations from Local Matters @ Grill’d Maroochydore Restaurant as winners of September jar donation. I quote from their email “The community spirit shown by Coolum Beach Meals on Wheels is an inspiration to us and our guests. We want to say thank you, from the bottom of our jars, for being a part of Local Matters this month”.
Don’t forget to drop by for burgers and give them the support given to CMOW through September and to everyone in our community who gave us the winning edge. Thank you

Yesterday Coolum Beach Meals opened the doors to host our AGM. Thank you to the team of nine who nominated for another year of Committee membership and guests Councillor Maria Suarez (Division 9) Sunshine Coast Council, Kath Nielsen (QMOW) and Kade from Fairfax Electoral Office of Ted O’Brien MP. And a thank you to our Service Manager Gerard who is the master behind the scene.

This month Coolum Meals on Wheels is featured at Grill’d Sunshine Plaza, River Walk (near the cinemas) with “Local Matters Jar” in the restaurant. Now time to dine out and add tokens to our jar during September.

Yesterday we had the privilege to attend a morning tea at Buderim Memorial Hall with 8 other grant recipients for the 2026 QCF Sunshine Coast Community grant celebration. It was an inspiring gathering of focused organisations that strive to achieve amazing work, assistance and help to those that are most vulnerable. Coolum Beach Meals on Wheels was humbled to be in such company and are grateful that our team of volunteers and staff make our community connection happen.

Coolum Beach Meals on Wheels has been busy over the past few weeks attending events. Firstly it was a lunch at Noosa with guest speaker Maggie B**r (inspiring lady). Then this morning Government House for Morning tea to celebrate 70 years of Meals on Wheels in Qland. Vonnie, Gerard and I were honoured to meet Her Excellency Jeanette Young and then in a blink of an eye we were on our way home.

Coolum Meals on Wheels finished National Volunteers Week on a high. Our Federal Member for Fairfax, Mr Ted O’Brien hosted a morning tea at Maroochydore to present Certificates to Volunteers, clubs and Organisations. Our volunteer Peter Cooper was a worthy recipient for over 13 years of Service to CMOW as was our own recognition for over 40 years of Service within our community.
