Thousands of council workers live in our community; they are our neighbours and friends and give their all to their jobs. Does everything work perfectly? No. But no one deserves to experience disrespect or aggression when they’re trying to do their job.

Get to know and care for your local waterways at two upcoming workshops in Dayboro!

🌱 Riparian Vine W**d Management Workshop
📅 Friday 16 October | 10 am–3 pm

Learn how to identify and control invasive vine w**ds that threaten native vegetation and waterway health. Explore biological control, chemical and manual treatments, see live biocontrol agents, and join a field walk covering non-chemical treatment and Caring for Country. Refreshments provided.

Presented by Pine Rivers Catchment Association alongside Seqwater, Restore Nature’s Balance, BushTekniq and Samford Biological Control Facility.

💧 Get to Know Your Waterways: eDNA Sampling Workshop
📅 Saturday 17 October | 2–5 pm

Discover how tiny traces of DNA in water can help identify local plants and animals, and learn how to collect samples to support waterway monitoring and conservation. Afternoon tea provided.

What an incredible privilege it has been to serve Division 11 and the City of Moreton Bay for the last 12 months as a Councillor. It has flown by! In the past 12 months I've spent a lot of time listening, learning, asking questions and advocating for our communities.

I'm proud of the progress we've made together, from strengthening communication and community engagement to advocating for better transport, planning, environmental outcomes and local facilities. But there's still plenty of work to do. Managing the growth we’re experiencing, getting actual outcomes on transport infrastructure, working towards a planning scheme that works for our community and shapes the region we want to leave our children - these are a big topics I’m grappling with alongside our council team.

We’re super excited to announce that Sarah McLeod - Australian rock powerhouse and frontwoman of three-time ARIA Award-winning rock band The Superjesus - is headlining Beers & Beats Burpengary for one huge, completely FREE rock concert.

Sarah will kick off with a killer solo set, then team up with hitmakers RAW ORDIO for the electric live show they’ve taken to major festival stages around Australia. This time, it’s happening right here at Symphony Crescent Park.

For one member of the band, it’s also a homecoming. He grew up in Burpengary - and now he’s returning with Sarah to play for his hometown crowd. Not a bad way to say hi to your Mum!

Beers & Beats will take over Symphony Crescent Park for one massive FREE afternoon packed with live music, local b**r, food trucks and entertainment for the whole family.

Sarah is the first big name out of the bag - but we’re nowhere near finished.
