It’s that time of semester again !! Join the History and Classics and Ancient History Societies for our biannual W(h)ine night where we let go of all our semesterly grievances with a little bit of vino. Lend an ear and vent yourself!

🍷Snacks and W**e provided as a pre-exam refresher.
⏰When: 12pm Thursday 6th of October
📍Where: St Lucy’s Café, St Lucia (Near the tennis courts)

Safe drinking practices will be encouraged and welfare officers will be present. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for those who do not wish to drink.

As an incredible year for UQHS will come to close, it’s time to welcome a new era of UQHS! Join us on the 22nd of October at 5 PM for the 2026 AGM and a movie night right after!

All who attend will vote on all members of the exec team for 2027, and anyone can apply to become an executive for any role (President, Secretary and Treasurer must be UQ students), no experience required.

We would appreciate everyone who attends the AGM to help meet our quorum and ensure UQHS continues in 2027. If you can’t attend and want to nominate for a role, please send us a DM including your name, student ID number, and what role you’re looking for!

Join us on Thursday September 24 for a look into Brisbane’s rich history with a tour of the heritage listed South Brisbane Cemetery at Dutton Park. This after dark tour will guide us through the stories of Brisbane legends and civilians alike.

We will meet at the Great Court for pizza at 6:30 PM, then make our way across the river to the gates of the South Brisbane Cemetery for a 7:30 PM start featuring a tour lead by the historian Tracey Olivieri. Attendees are welcome to come at any time.

Please note this tour involves walking on grass, dirt and uneven surfaces in low visibility conditions. Closed in shoes must be worn and this is a BYOT (bring your own torch) event. Also note that costumes are not permitted in order to respect the heritage and spiritual values of the site and its inhabitants.

Every Thursday from 2-4 pm, overcome your procrastination and boost your productivity by joining us at the Parnell Building! For every hour, there will be 50 minutes of writing followed by 10 minutes of rest.
