Seiha Karate Seiha Karate has been located in the West End and South Brisbane precinct for over 20 years. We are fully committed to your journey from beginner to black belt.

Seiha Karate combines Japanese traditions with martial arts, providing you with the opportunity to learn kumite, kata and self defence to the highest level in a safe and respectful environment We are a not-for-profit club dedicated to achieving excellence in our martial art. At Seiha Karate we combine our Japanese traditions with modern advances in martial arts incorporating techniques using both

hands and feet. Our emphasis is on self defence, fitness, strength and flexibility, as well as the traditional aspects of kata (forms) and kumite (fighting). Seiha Karate has a strong history of success at the highest levels of sport karate. Our instructors are former Australian champions and have won medals at the World Championship level. If you become interested in competitions we are affiliated with the Queensland, Australian and World Karate Federations which are sponsored by the Australian Sports Commission. Our instructors are fully accredited bronze level coaches. Furthermore, they hold positions as National and Queensland teams coaches and accredited Australian referees.

Congratulations to the Australian Women’s and Men’s Teams who are the qualifiers from the Oceania region to compete in China for the World Cup from 20-22 November. Only 20 nations are eligible and each country must qualify through a rigorous competition program. 

It is a great honour and privilege for Sensei Robyn to be the coach of the Female Team. And a huge congratulations to Georgie who played an integral role in Australia’s success by winning her bout 5-2 as the position one fighter!!

A big thank you to Sensei William Thomas , Sensei Erman Eltemur .erman and Sensei Said for their hospitality and training. The facilities at the Hong Kong Sports Institute are impressively world class.

Lucy and Sensei Robyn enjoyed their time in Hong Kong with great training, delicious food and wonderful friends. A big thanks to Sensei Matt Johnson for organising and leading the tour!

Congratulations to our athletes who competed at the Australian Open Championship last weekend in Liverpool, Sydney! We have been working on positive fighting and it was great to see our athletes putting that into practice on the tatami. This tournament was great preparation for the various international trips our team will embark on in the coming month. We look forward to lots more hard training in the lead up to Nationals!
