At the end of 2025, UQILS, QuASI, UQUNSA and UQPSIR were delighted to co-host a seminar on AI governance and accountability, featuring insightful contributions from panelists Dr Pratap Devarapalli (Deakin University), Dr Priyanka Singh (University of Queensland) and Mr Jay Bailey (Arcadia Impact) 💬

The discussion explored shared responsibility for AI safety, challenges around open source model guardrails and content authentication, the question of a public AI Security Institute in Australia, and the continued centrality of human authorship and inventorship in a landscape increasingly shaped by AI generated works. We look forward to hosting further thoughtful and engaging discussions on a range of important issues throughout the year ahead ✨
