From Sweden to Sandgate

Join Emelie Dahlskold for an intimate afternoon of music and storytelling inspired by her journey from Sweden to Sandgate. Through songs that have shaped her across childhood, migration and community, Emelie reflects on belonging, identity and the unexpected ways we find home through music.

Born in Sweden and now based in Sandgate, Emelie Dahlskold has carried music with her through every chapter of life. From performing in musicals as a child to studying music through her school years, singing has long been a way for her to tell stories and make sense of the world. After arriving in Australia as a young adult for what was meant to be a short stay, Emelie unexpectedly found a life and community here. As one half of Hollow Wood, she now performs locally with a style that is intimate, heartfelt and grounded in lived experience.

Women Weaving Stories with Song is a monthly series from Womenspace Sandgate, held on the third Sunday of each month. Each month a different female artist takes the stage to share her story and her soul through live performance. Across the series, expect a rich diversity of voices, ages and cultures.

Tickets: $15- Only 35 tickets available

Part of the proceeds go directly to the performing artist. The remainder supports Womenspace's ongoing work with women in our community.

Stay on after the performance for nibbles & drinks. Tea & coffee provided.

Women Weaving Stories

Thank you to Mali Rivers for sharing so generously her life journey of discoveries, challenges and wins with such open heart, honesty and laughter. Some of us followed her next morning for another dose of positivity and connection - a zoom session "The Power of Vision - 3 Keys to Accelerating your Results".

PLEASE NOTE - our monthly Women Weaving Stories is shifting from the third Friday of the month to FIRST FRIDAY of the month, starting on Friday, 5th June. Follow us for details in the next day or two.

Thank you for a special experience this afternoon at Womenspace - ‘Women Weaving Stories through Song’ with Sarah Hopkins.

Sarah’s story is very rich, her music took us many places and we were invited to create and share magic with her. A rare experience, very much appreciated.

Next ‘WWS through Song’ is on 21st June (monthly event on third Sunday of the month) - looking forward to another full house!
