Our online Volunteer Tutor Scheme Conversation Clubs are back for a new term!

To kick things off, we’re sharing a reflection from Jakob, one of our university student volunteers who supportsour Conversation Clubs.

Through conversations with AMEP learners, Jakob gained new perspectives and saw how valuable simple conversations can be in building confidence and connection.

Did you know breast screening is free?

BreastScreen Victoria invites women aged 50 to 74 without breast symptoms to have a breast screen every two years.

A breast screen is free, takes around 10 minutes, and doesn’t require a doctor’s referral.

One hour a week can make a big difference.

After moving to Melbourne, Jingyi found speaking English challenging and often worried about making mistakes.

Through the Volunteer Tutor Scheme, Jingyi was matched with Evelyn. Their weekly sessions have included practising everyday conversations, learning about Australian culture and building confidence to use English in real situations.

Over time, speaking English is no longer something to fear for Jingyi.
