🌟 A Warm Welcome and Heartfelt Farewell to Lord Ganesh 🙏🏽 🌟
What an incredible day of devotion and immense sense of community we shared at the Darebin Arts Centre! This year's celebration was truly special, starting with the beautiful installation of Lord Ganesh by the esteemed Hindu priest, Artiji. A massive thank you to Ken for his magnificent craftsmanship in sculpting the idol—a true symbol of perseverance and persistence.
Hundreds of devotees filled the space, creating a vibrant and spiritual atmosphere. It was a joy to witness so many coming together to seek the blessings of Darebin Ganesh. We were also treated to breathtaking cultural performances from emerging artists, all thanks to the talented leadership of Shivaganga.
As the sun set, we gathered at Bundoora Park lake to bid farewell, chanting the beautiful words: "Ganapati Bappa Moraya, Pudchya Varshi Laukar Yaa" which means, "Dear Lord Ganesh, farewell for now, can’t wait to see you next year."
We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this event a success. A huge thank you to the teams at the Darebin Arts Centre, Darebin Parks, and the SES. Your support is invaluable! 🙏

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi! Today marks the birthday of Lord Ganesh, a revered Hindu deity known as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles.
Also called Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi, this day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by Hindus in India and around the world. It is believed that on this day, Lord Ganesh descends to earth to grant his blessings to his devotees.
With his unique appearance—an elephant head with a curved trunk, large ears, and a pot-bellied human body—Ganesh is one of the most beloved deities. He is worshiped as the lord of success and the destroyer of evil and obstacles. He is also honored as the god of knowledge, wisdom, and wealth. For these reasons, Hindus often invoke his name before starting any new or significant endeavor.
