⚽ Introducing the Kicking Goals Program! ⚽

Our Community Project is excited to be piloting the Kicking Goals Program in partnership with Port Kembla Primary school, combining inclusive football activities with engaging awareness and wellbeing sessions.

The program is designed to support young people in developing:
✅ Teamwork and communication skills
✅ Leadership and resilience
✅ Social and emotional wellbeing
✅ Healthy relationships and conflict management
✅ Safety awareness, including cyber awareness and e-bike safety

We are looking forward to seeing the positive impact this program will have within our local community.

Looking for a fun, engaging activity to enjoy with your little one this Term 4?
Music, Play & Connect is a FREE 8-week community program designed for children aged 0–5 years and their parent or carer. Led by a registered Music Therapist, each session is filled with music, movement, singing, instrument play and opportunities to connect with other local families in a welcoming and supportive environment.
✨ Help your child:
🎶 Develop confidence through music and play
🥁 Explore instruments, singing and movement

We’re thrilled to share that renovation works have officially commenced at the Port Kembla Community Centre! This exciting upgrade will help create an even better space for our community to connect, learn and thrive.

🚧 While works are underway, we’ll be sharing progress updates along the way, so be sure to watch this space for photos and news as the transformation takes shape!

✅ Our Community Project / NILs office remains open throughout the renovations.
If you’re visiting us, please use the ramp access and keep an eye out for directional signage to help guide you safely to our office.

Our much-loved Music, Play and Connect program returns for Term 4!

Designed for children aged 1-5 years and their caregivers, these fun-filled music sessions encourage learning, connection, creativity and confidence in a welcoming community environment.

🎼 Led by a registered Music Therapist

♟️ One last game before the renovations! ♟️

Our OCP Port Kembla Men’s Group made the most of the outdoor chess board this week, enjoying one last game before Wollongong City Council commence renovations at the Port Kembla Community Centre next week. 🔨🏗️

It’s a little bittersweet to say goodbye to our current space for a while, but we’re excited to see the transformation take place! ✨

We’ll be sharing updates along the way, so watch this space 👀 for a look at the changes as they happen.

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back into a fresh, renewed community space ready for more connection, activities, laughter… and of course, a few more games of chess! ♟️😊

But the Men’s Group is still going! 🙌

Our Port Kembla Men’s Group continues to meet every Wednesday morning, providing a friendly space to get together, connect, have a chat and enjoy some activities.

🎶 Jam 'N' Bread | Colombian Rhythms with Anamaria 🎶

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday for our Jam 'N' Bread: Colombian Rhythms session with Anamaria and Mark!

What a wonderful afternoon of music, culture, connection, and community. It was fantastic to see so many new faces alongside our regular attendees as we explored the vibrant sounds and rhythms of Colombia together.

Participants had the opportunity to learn and play a range of drums and percussion instruments, sing in Spanish, and experience the joy of making music as a group. The room was filled with energy, curiosity, laughter, and plenty of rhythm!

Thank you to Anamaria for generously sharing Colombian music and culture with us, and to everyone who brought their enthusiasm and willingness to join in. Thanks to café for hosting us!

We look forward to seeing you at our next Jam 'N' Bread session as we continue celebrating the rich cultural diversity of our community through music.
