Port Kembla Youth Project

Port Kembla Youth Project PKYP works with young people (12-24 yrs) in the Port Kembla geographic area.

Developing their resilience and emotional confidence to address issues of social and economic disadvantage & help them find positive pathways for the next stage of their lives. The Port Kembla Youth Project is a not-for-profit community organisation that provides information and support to young people aged 12-24. Programs focus on providing opportunities for skills development, engagement, mentor

ship and resilience building, recognising the cultural diversity of our local area. We work with young people in Port Kembla and surrounding suburbs including Kemblawarra, Primbee, Warrawong and Windang. Our programs include:

Splash Swim Program - ENROLMENTS WELCOME
Tutoring and homework help - ENROLMENTS WELCOME
The Magazine Project - Art, journalism and graphic design
Casual Edge - Pre-employment skills for casual and part-time work
Own It - Public space murals
Connect Up - Drama group for young people with special needs
PK Leap - Year 6 transition to high school program
Young Women’s Forum - young women from all cultural backgrounds discussing topics important to them and building confidence
