The Naval Association of Australia began its life in 1920 as the Ex-Navalmen's Association and is the premier organisation outside of Navy looking to the interests of both serving and ex naval members. The NAA is not just a social club, although mateship is at the core of its ethos, our aim is to be a dynamic and contemporary organisation supporting the navy fraternity in a wide range of different

ways, including:

assist, co-operate with and promote interest in the Royal Australian Navy;

assist and support the Australian Naval Cadet (ANC) movement;

assist former Naval personnel to obtain employment;

provide such practical and financial assistance as may be possible to:

former and serving Naval personnel and their immediate families, and
surviving spouses and dependent children of deceased Naval personnel who are in necessitous circumstances, whether death occurred during or subsequent to Naval service;
provide for the entertainment of visiting Naval personnel;

encourage the social, intellectual and general well-being plus advancement of its members;

where appropriate, purchase or lease property for the provision of clubrooms, offices or such other facility as may be considered necessary for the efficient operation of the Association;

print, publish and circulate such books, magazines and papers as may be considered necessary or desirable to advance the objectives of the Association;

assist community charitable activities that contribute to the health and welfare of the ex-Service community; and

encourage members to participate in commemorative activities that recognise the legacy of those who have served in the Navy at sea and ashore in both peace making and peace keeping capacities. Within the NAA membership there is a wide range of experience and knowledge covering many aspect of Navy life, both in and after service. Enquiry at Sub-section (local), Section (State), or National level will result in a helping hand or advice on how to achieve support. If you do not know who to ask – email [email protected]

Chesterfield Brass Returns to the Navy Club in Spectacular Style
After a lengthy hiatus, the much-loved Chesterfield Brass finally made their long-awaited return to the Navy Club on Sunday afternoon, and what a welcome home it was.
Patrons turned out in force to see one of their favourite bands back on stage, and from the very first song, it was clear they were in for something special. The energy in the room was electric as the band's charismatic leading man launched into My Girl, immediately capturing the crowd's attention. Swaggering through the club, engaging with patrons and drawing them into the performance, he set the tone for an afternoon filled with fun, music, and entertainment.
And that was just the beginning.
The band's talented female vocalists were in fine form, delivering outstanding performances throughout the afternoon, while the backing musicians provided the rich, polished sound that Chesterfield Brass is renowned for. Then there was the brass section itself — a visual and musical spectacle. Moving in unison as they performed, they brought an extra layer of excitement to the show, much to the delight of the audience. When they took their own mini-performance onto the dance floor, cameras clicked, phones recorded, and smiles were everywhere. It was truly a feast for the senses.
As if the music wasn't enough, the afternoon also featured a special celebration for one of Chesterfield Brass's most treasured members — their beloved "Guru of Sound" — who was celebrating his birthday. The surprises began when our President, together with fellow band members, presented him with a fun gift accompanied by a humorous story that clearly touched him.
But the surprises weren't over yet.
The band was suddenly brought to a halt as more unexpected celebrations arrived. A birthday cake appeared, along with a few cheeky extras, plenty of laughs, some tassels, some dance moves, and a whole lot of good-natured fun. The photos tell the story far better than words ever could.
It was one of those afternoons where everything came together perfectly — great music, great people, and great memories. The Navy Club was buzzing, and everyone who attended left with a smile.
A huge thank you to Chesterfield Brass for another outstanding performance. We can't wait to welcome them back again in July.

A fantastic afternoon of music, laughter, friendship, and celebration — exactly what live entertainment at the Navy Club is all about.

Mojo & Co. Rock the Navy Club
Last Friday night, the Navy Club came alive as patrons turned out in force to see our very own rock chick, Jo, and her talented band Mojo & Co. deliver an unforgettable evening of live music.
From heartfelt ballads to powerful anthems, crowd-pleasing sing-alongs to classic rock favourites, the band had it all covered. Every song was performed with genuine feeling, passion, and emotion, drawing the audience into the music from the very first note.
The dance floor was busy throughout the night as people sang along, danced, and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment. Mojo & Co. showcased not only their musical talent but also their ability to connect with the crowd and create a fantastic atmosphere.
Adding to the excitement of the evening was a surprise appearance by a special guest artist, who joined Jo on stage for several songs. The unexpected collaboration was a real highlight and was warmly received by the audience.
A great night of live music, great company, and great entertainment — Mojo & Co. certainly delivered, and we look forward to welcoming Jo and the boys back to the Navy Club again soon.

Unfortunately, due to insufficient bookings, we have made the difficult decision to cancel The Penguin Club performance.
As a community-based venue, advance bookings are essential in helping us confirm that enough support exists to make live entertainment events viable for both the performers and the club. While there was some interest shown, the number of confirmed bookings was not sufficient for the event to proceed.
We thank those who had planned to attend and sincerely appreciate your support. We encourage members and guests to book early for future shows whenever possible, as advance bookings play a vital role in ensuring these events can go ahead.
We look forward to bringing more great entertainment to the Navy Club and hope to see you at one of our upcoming events.
