Introducing Woven Shores 🌊
Created by Western Australian artist Rickiesha Deegan, Woven Shores is the artwork that forms the foundation of our 2026 WA Day Festival creative.
Throughout this year’s campaign, you’ll see elements of the work brought to life across our Festival artwork – but today, we wanted to share the story behind where it all began 🧡
From the Kimberley to the South West, our coastline connects us. Our footsteps carve these shores, following the paths of those who came before us and leaving our own marks behind.
As the tide washes those tracks away, Woven Shores reminds us that community isn’t something we participate in just once. It’s a continuous commitment to showing up, connecting and contributing to the places we call home.
Over the coming weeks, keep an eye out for pieces of Woven Shores woven throughout 2026 WA Day Festival 👏
