When it’s jersey day in the office but it’s a heartbreaking decision 😩

Are you repping the Blues on Origin Game 2 or are you getting behind the Socceroos on their generational World Cup performance and putting on the green and gold?

Take on the City2Surf with the Y NSW!

As a not-for-profit, every dollar our team raises goes directly to Youth Parliament, a program that gives young people the confidence, skills and platform to speak up about issues that matter most to them.

Last year, more than 30% of participants needed financial support just to take part. Cost should never be the reason a young person misses out on being heard.

We have limited spots available so get in quick!!!

Tickets are discounted at a special rate with the Y NSW team:
Adults only $99!
Kids aged 10–17 just $51!

Our goal is to raise $25,000 for the young people of NSW. Every step helps a young person be heard!

Today is Y Founders’ Day, a moment to celebrate where the Y began, and the global movement we are part of today.

The Y started as the YMCA in London in 1844, creating a safe place for young people to connect, belong and grow.

More than 180 years later, we are known simply as the Y - but our purpose remains the same: supporting people and communities to feel safe, connected and able to thrive.

Flick through the photos to take a look back in time.

A huge shoutout to Ku-ring-gai Fitness and Aquatic Centre Saturday morning Duty Manager, Rick Wong, who recently helped save a life while volunteering with St John Ambulance at the Sydney Kings game!

As a Duty Manager at KFAC, Rick plays a key role in ensuring Saturday mornings run smoothly : maintaining water quality, managing pool operations, supervising our lifeguard team, and ensuring all patrons and staff remain safe.

During this incident, Rick’s quick CPR response, teamwork, and use of an AED made a real difference. It's an incredible effort we’re all proud of!

Have a read of Rick's story in The Post:

Say hello to our new interns, Madi, Lian and Jamison!

The Y NSW is excited to announce our new 2026 Internship Program, designed for young people who are studying their undergraduate degree and keen to gain real-world experience in a community focused not-for-profit organisation.

For the next six months, Lian, Jamison, and Madi, will be completing two month rotations across three areas: Strategy and Advocacy, People & Culture, and Operations. They'll also contribute to the goals of our Risk & Innovation team.

As part of their internship program, they will:
• Develop new skills aligned with their field of study
• Work on cross-functional projects that impact the communities that we serve
• Shadow subject matter experts, functional leads and members of our Executive Leadership Team
• Gain a stronger understanding of how community focused not-for-profit organisation work
• Broaden their career pathways within the Y.

Stay tuned for their updates over the course of their journey, and please us in congratulating them for their internship with the Y!

A big shoutout to the people making a difference to young people’s lives in our Alternative Suspension program 🙌

Yesterday, we welcomed The Hon Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC, Shadow Minister to The Y Penrith City for a conversation about the impact the Alternative Suspension program is having for young people across Western Sydney.

With the generous support of our funding partners, Alternative Suspension is helping young people stay connected to education, build confidence and make positive changes in their behaviour and wellbeing.

The results speak to the impact being made. At three-month follow-up, 67% of participants had received no further suspensions since attending the program. We are also seeing reductions in behaviours such as bullying and disruptive behaviour, physical violence and verbal abuse.

These outcomes matter, not only for the young people taking part, but for their families, schools and local communities. Thank you Natasha for taking the time to visit, meet with our community and be part of such a meaningful conversation.
