Our NSWJA Ryde City branch patron Jordan Lane MP recently hosted a parliamentary afternoon tea to welcome Justices of the Peace and thank them for their contribution to the local community. Also in attendance were the Shadow Attorney General Alister Henskens SC MP and Shadow Assistant Attorney General Susan Carter MLC. Our branch president Ann Davies gave a speech. Also in attendance from the NSWJA were State Vice President Meryl Kane and Area Director Lydia Sharpin as well as many members from Ryde City Branch.

“The next RydeCity Branch meeting will be held on Wednesday, 21 June, commencing at 7:00 pm. The guest speaker will be Jordan Lane, MP. Jordan is the newly elected Member for Ryde and the Shadow Assistant Minister for Health and Multiculturalism. He is also a NSW Justice of the Peace and was formerly Mayor of the City of Ryde.

This will be an online Zoom meeting. If you wish to attend, please email [email protected] for access information.”

On the 12 June RydeCity Branch President, Juanita Ann Davies, was awarded the OAM in the King’s Birthday Honours list 2023 “For service to aged welfare”. Ann’s long list of achievements includes voluntary work for Leigh Place Aged Care, Uniting Care, Community and her work as a Justice of the Peace since first appointed in 1964.

Congratulations Ann. The NSWJA is very fortunate to have someone of your calibre as a Branch President. Ann’s long list of achievements can be read on page 145 at the following link

1.FEBRUARY 2023 BRANCH MEETING:

The next branch meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 15 February, commencing at 7.00pm. This will be a Zoom online meeting.

IMPORTANT: Please email [email protected] advising your Acceptance or Inability to Attend for the meeting. If you are attending your acceptance will be acknowledged by return email together with the Zoom link, Agenda for the evening; and the draft minutes for 21 December meeting. (If you have an issue to raise for the agenda, please email [email protected] by cob 13 February).
