🧹✨ Back2School Wednesday – Week 10- Last Day of Term 2 ✨🧹

Today marked the final day of Term 2, and our students finished the term by demonstrating important life skills, teamwork and respect.

The morning began with literacy and numeracy activities, including a spelling test, sentence structure practice and times tables revision. Students then worked together to organise learning materials, finalise artwork projects and prepare for the exciting start of Term 3.

A key focus of the day was giving back to the space we use. Students cleaned cupboards, organised folders, reset display boards and the newsletter board, and ensured the program space was left clean and tidy for the school holiday program. We discussed how respecting the spaces we use shows respect for others—and for ourselves. Learning to take pride in our environment is an important life skill that extends beyond the classroom.

Students also participated in cooking and life skills activities before enjoying a shared lunch and end-of-term celebration, complete with a movie afternoon and group games that encouraged positive peer interaction, teamwork and connection.

We are incredibly proud of all our young people and the growth they have shown throughout the term.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable school holidays—we look forward to seeing you all in Term 3! 🌟

📚✨ Back2School Tuesday – Week 10 ✨

Today our young people continued building their literacy and numeracy skills through spelling, sentence structure, times tables, and addition and subtraction activities.

Students also participated in our Money Matters session, developing valuable financial literacy skills and learning about making SMART Goals.

During Tool Time Tuesday, students explored their creativity and interests through finalising their bike painting and also saw students continue working on their collaborative Quote Wall, and WhyNot competition submissions, showcasing their creativity, teamwork and self-expression.

It’s been fantastic to see our students engaging in learning, developing life skills, and celebrating their achievements as we approach the end of Term 2! 🌟

Back2School – Week 10 End of Term Excursion

What a fantastic way to finish the term!

Our young people enjoyed a fun-filled day swimming, paddle boarding, fishing, playing footy and volleyball, enjoying games of Uno, and sharing a delicious BBQ lunch together.

While the day was packed with fun, it was also full of valuable life skills. Students were involved in planning and preparing for the excursion, packing and unpacking the bus, setting up and packing away equipment, participating as a team, following instructions, and taking responsibility throughout the day.

At Back2School, we believe every experience can be a learning opportunity—and not all life lessons happen in a classroom! Sometimes the best learning happens while having fun.

We are incredibly proud of our young people and all they have achieved this term. What a great term it has been!

🌟 Back2School Wednesday – Week 9 🌟

Another fantastic day of learning, connection and building life skills at Back2School 💙

Students continued developing their literacy and numeracy skills through spelling, reading activities, times tables practice and exploring attendance percentages — building confidence, independence and everyday skills along the way.

Our cooking and life skills sessions were all about teamwork and preparation, with students working together to prepare lunch, plan future menus and create shopping lists. These hands-on activities support practical skills that can be carried into everyday life.

For Wellbeing Wednesday, students focused on friendships and communication through interactive team activities and group discussions. We explored what healthy communication looks like, how we can communicate effectively, and the importance of teamwork and positive connections.

At Back2School, we’re proud to create a space where young people can learn, grow, connect and build skills for life. 💙

🌟 Back2School Tuesday – Week 9 🌟

Another great day of learning, connection and building skills at Back2School 💙

Our students started the day
strengthening their literacy and numeracy skills through spelling, sentence structure, times tables, and addition and subtraction activities — supporting confidence and growth at each student’s own pace.

During our specialist session, students explored healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviours, discussing the importance of recognising red flags, setting boundaries, and building positive connections with others. These conversations help support social skills, wellbeing, and respectful relationships.

The afternoon brought out the creativity and teamwork through Tool Time Tuesday 🔧🎨 Students got hands-on with bike maintenance, Lego builds, puzzles, craft activities and collaborative art projects — including bringing to life a request for artwork representing Youth Voice within our community.

At Back2School, we’re proud to create spaces where young people can learn practical skills, express themselves, build confidence, and feel connected. 💙

🌟 Back2School | Week 8, Term 2 🌟

Week 8 at Back2School we celebrated something really special — one of our young people stepped up and took the reins, delivering sessions to the class! 🙌
Building confidence, leadership skills and the ability to share knowledge with others is such an important part of what we do. Watching our young people grow, take ownership and recognise their own strengths is what makes these moments so valuable. 💙

Our week was filled with learning, connection and practical skills. Young people continued strengthening literacy and numeracy skills through spelling, sentence structure, times tables, reading activities and maths support, while also continuing to develop their EIF projects and individual learning goals.

We explored important life skills through First Aid, learning about asthma, allergies and snake bite response, and our Health & PE sessions focused on choices, peer pressure and decision making through discussions, activities and teamwork.

We were lucky to welcome the Salvation Army “Money Matters” team for a specialist session focused on financial literacy and practical skills that young people can carry into everyday life.
Our hands-on learning continued with Tool Time, where students worked on bikes, Lego, puzzles, craft and creative activities — building teamwork, problem solving and confidence along the way.

We also cooked, planned meals, practised household organisation skills and finished the week with Wellbeing Wednesday, focusing on cyber safety, online choices and staying safe in digital spaces.

Another week of learning, growth, connection and celebrating our young people at Back2School 💙
