Palmerston parkrun

Palmerston parkrun Palmerston parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run/walk put on for the community at 7am every Saturday morning at Palmerston water park, Palmerston, NT.

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Palmerston parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful Palmerston Water Park and get physically active in t

he process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

This week 143 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 21 were first timers and 29 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 8 different clubs took part.

Palmerston parkrun started on 17th September 2016. Since then 4,890 participants have completed 43,191 parkruns covering a total distance of 215,955 km, including 6,217 new Personal Bests. A total of 564 individuals have volunteered 4,710 times.

Good luck to all those running the City to Surf tomorrow. Hopefully a cooler morning than this morning.

This week 100 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 15 were first timers and 11 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 10 different clubs took part.

Our volunteer roster is FULL for this Saturday's parkrun! A huge thank you to everyone who has put their hand up to help make our event possible. 💜
