There's a lot happening in a day of play. 🏃‍♀️🌳🧩
Children are climbing, creating, exploring, running, imagining… and sometimes testing just how far they can jump!

That's why active supervision matters. Our educators are always observing, positioning themselves thoughtfully and staying aware of what's happening around them.
Because while children are busy discovering the world, we're busy helping make sure they can do it safely.

✨ When imagination takes the lead, anything is possible! 🚗✈️

Children worked together to transform everyday classroom resources into roads, ramps and exciting new worlds for their vehicles. Through creativity and fantasy, a simple wooden plank became part of their shared adventure!

As they played, the children exchanged ideas, shared resources, took turns and collaborated to bring their imaginative plans to life. These playful moments support communication, problem-solving, social confidence and the ability to see ordinary objects in extraordinary new ways.

There are no limits to what children can create when they play and imagine together! 💛

🚗 Learning is better together! 🧱

Our children worked collaboratively to create their own busy little car world. They shared resources, exchanged ideas and worked together to build roads, garages and imaginative spaces for their vehicles.

Through this shared play, the children developed important skills such as communication, cooperation, turn-taking, problem-solving and creativity. It was wonderful to see them listening to one another, contributing their own ideas and enjoying a strong sense of belonging within the group.

Play brings children together and shows us that the best creations are often made as a team! 💛

🌿 Learning Through Play 🌿

Children learn best when they are free to explore, create and use their imaginations. Through sensory play and the use of natural materials such as sticks, mud and leaves, the children created their own exciting worlds and stories.

These open-ended experiences encourage creativity, curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking. As the children share ideas and work together, they also develop their communication, social and fine-motor skills.

Every touch, discovery and imaginative idea is an important part of their learning journey! 🍃🦁🚗

🐍🌿 World Snake Day at Farrar ELC! 🌿🐊

What an incredible day of hands-on learning as we celebrated World Snake Day with our wonderful friends from Animal Encounters!

Our children had the exciting opportunity to meet and safely interact with a variety of amazing Australian reptiles, including snakes, lizards, and a baby saltwater crocodile. They loved gently touching the animals, asking lots of thoughtful questions, and learning fascinating facts about their habitats, behaviours, and the important role they play in our environment.

Experiences like these help children build confidence, develop respect for wildlife, and encourage curiosity through real-life, interactive learning. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as our little explorers stepped outside their comfort zones and discovered just how amazing these creatures really are.

A huge thank you to Animal Encounters for providing such an engaging, educational, and memorable experience for our children. 💚

📚💕 Friendship, imagination and a love for reading! 💕📚

There’s something truly special about watching friendships grow through shared stories and imaginative play. Our little learners created their own cosy reading space, exploring books together, sharing ideas, and engaging in meaningful role play.

As they turned each page, they were building early literacy skills, expanding their vocabulary, developing communication, and strengthening their social connections. Through role play and storytelling, children learn to express themselves, solve problems, and see the world through different perspectives.

Moments like these remind us that some of the best learning happens when children are free to imagine, connect, and discover together. 💜📖✨

🎨❤️💛🖤 NAIDOC Week at Farrar ELC ❤️💛🖤

This week, our children had the wonderful opportunity to create and explore using natural paint lovingly prepared by Yulara , one of our educators and a proud Aboriginal woman.

Using natural materials, Yulara shared her knowledge and culture with the children, encouraging them to connect with Country through creativity, storytelling, and sensory exploration. Experiences like these help foster respect, curiosity, and an appreciation for the history and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At Farrar Early Learning Centre, we are proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week by providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
