Waiting for a spot to get sore or itchy before you check it? Please don't. ✋

Yes, soreness and itchiness can be warning signs, but plenty of melanomas cause neither. The bigger clues are change and difference: a spot that's new, one that's shifting in size, shape or colour, or one that simply doesn't match anything else on your skin.

If something's caught your eye, don't sit on it, get it checked!

💙 Celebrating 20 Years of Care, Compassion & Commitment 💙

This week, we’re celebrating a very special milestone for Sheina, who has dedicated an incredible 20 years to caring for patients at the Newcastle Melanoma Unit- Calvary Mater Newcastle.

Over two decades, it’s almost impossible to measure the impact Sheina has had. Thousands of patients and families have been touched by her care — often during some of the most frightening and uncertain times of their lives.

For every patient she has supported, there is a family who has also felt the difference she makes. A reassuring voice, a familiar face, a listening ear, a source of knowledge and, above all, someone who genuinely cares.

Twenty years represents thousands of conversations, countless moments of reassurance, many tears and celebrations, and an extraordinary contribution to melanoma care in our community.

Sheina congratulations on 20 remarkable years of service. Thank you for the compassion, dedication and kindness you have shown to so many people along the way.

The number of lives you have impacted is far greater than you will probably ever know. 💙

This October marks a very special milestone.

On 9 October 2026, it will be 20 years since the passing of Scott Polglase, in whose memory the Gimme 5 Campaign was created.

Over those 20 years, this incredible campaign has raised $98,159.64 for the Hunter Melanoma Foundation.

Now we have one goal:

LET’S GET GIMME 5 TO $100,000 BY 9 OCTOBER.

Some of our favourite fundraisers come from you, our supporters, whether it's honouring the memory of someone lost to melanoma, or simply wanting to help however you can.

A ball for 400 guests. A high tea with a few close friends. A corporate golf day. A sports event. However you want to do it, we'd love to hear from you.
