Schools of Light is a children’s education charity that empowers schools in developing nations to be a bright, strong, ray of light in their community.

We believe in the transformative power of education to help break the cycle of poverty!

🌾✏️ Nourish & Equip

📍Malaysia

We’re launching a new project with Destiny School Malaysia to support 180 refugee students with the essentials they need to learn and thrive.

🍚 $15 provides a 10kg bag of rice to feed students who come to school without breakfast or lunch.
✏️ $50 provides a stationery pack for a teacher and their class — with books, markers, pencils and more.

Let’s help these students learn with full stomachs and equipped classrooms. Every gift makes a difference.

You Can’t Learn on an Empty Stomach 🍽️

Before a child can concentrate, participate or thrive in the classroom, their basic needs must be met — and that starts with food.

Research shows that children who are well-nourished are more alert, have better memory, and perform significantly better at school.

In fact, according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, physiological needs like food and water are the foundation for all other growth — including learning.

Education begins with nourishment.

Our Library project is almost complete! 😍🥳

We had some local government officials who came to show their support and check out the library’s progress.
We’re loving how colourful the library is looking and the children are all very excited to be able to use it soon 📚

Exciting to see some progress for the new home economics classroom at Nissi Academy, Surigao Philippines 🇵🇭

This space will enable over 270 students to learn how to cook nutritious food for their families and educate them on healthy lifestyle practices! 👩‍🍳
