Official page of Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club. Note we are a volunteer organisation, managing patrolling operations on Mooloolaba Beach.

Our Mooloolaba SLSC was established in 1922 and has grown to become one of the premier Surf Lifesaving Clubs in Australia. Our members volunteer to patrol our beach every weekend and on public holidays from the September school holidays until the last weekend in April. Lifeguards patrol the beach at all other times, with the beach patrolled 7 days a week, all year. Patrol hours are from 7.00am to 5.00pm, with extended hours until 6.00pm throughout the busy Christmas period.

A quick reminder that our Mooloolaba SLSC Young Guns Surfboat Academy is coming up — and we’ve made it even easier to jump onboard!

Thanks to the amazing support of Maroochy RSL, who have just sponsored the program, we’ve been able to reduce the cost to just $25 for the full 4-week program!

We’ve also pushed the program back to start after the school holidays, which means **more availability and more young guns can get involved!

🔥 Learn surfboat rowing and surf lifesaving skills
🔥 Gym sessions to build strength, commitment and teamwork
🔥 Get hands-on with patrols, craft and beach training
🔥 Learn first aid and important safety skills for life

The program is designed for 15–23-year-olds who want to give surfboats a go, get fitter, learn new skills and be part of an awesome crew.

There’s no major commitment — sign up, give it a crack and see what you think!

Session 1 of Off The Podium is done, and what a way to kick things off 💪

Our legends took on a full bootcamp with Ryan O’Neal and the Ufit Australia team, and they were tested. Fitness, teamwork, leadership, pushing through when it got tough… they showed up for every bit of it.

Ryan talked about training with purpose and building healthy habits now that set you up for life, not just for the next race.

Massive thank you to Ryan and the Ufit Australia crew for giving our young people your time, energy and a session they won’t forget 🙌

A huge shoutout to two of our legends, Ben and Jess, who completed the Advanced Lifesaving Development Program at Sunshine Beach this past weekend! 👏🌊

This program pushes participants well beyond their comfort zones, testing their skills, resilience and teamwork through challenging scenarios including:

👥 Leadership & teamwork
📋 SMEAC operations
💪 And plenty of challenges along the way!

After an intensive week-long training camp on the Gold Coast, our crew have passed their Surf Rescue Certificate with flying colours! 🎉👏

❤️💛 **CONGRATULATIONS STEVE!** ❤️💛

A huge congratulations to our very own Steve Barclay on his appointment as President of Surf Life Saving Queensland.

Steve has been a proud member of Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club for more than 40 years and has made an incredible contribution to surf lifesaving at both club and state level.

His passion for our volunteers, our clubs and the wider surf lifesaving movement is second to none. Steve has served on the SLSQ Board since 2023 and brings a wealth of leadership, governance and public service experience to the role.

We are incredibly proud to see one of our own take on this important leadership position and know Steve will continue to champion the incredible volunteers who keep Queensland’s beaches safe.

🎟️ MASSIVE SHOUT OUT TO OUR NIPPERS CADETS! 🙌

First raffles of the season on Saturday and the crew absolutely smashed it, raising over $1,000! 💰👏

Every dollar raised through our raffles makes a real difference. Raffles help fund valuable lifesaving equipment for our club and help cover carnival entry fees for our athletes - from Nippers and Boaties through to Masters. 🛟❤️💛❤️💛

A massive congratulations to our U16 Age Group crew who have successfully transitioned from their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) to their Bronze Medallion! 👏🌊

What an incredible achievement — these young guns are now fully qualified surf lifesavers and ready to hit the beach and help keep our community safe! 💪🏖️
