We powered through the Melbourne weather yesterday at the Be Bold Festival hosted by Brimbank City Council. We shared Pasefika poetry, storytelling and song with those who braved the outdoor event on Errington Reserve, St Albans. Our Pasefika Vitoria Choir shared Pasefika songs in Fijian, Maori and Samoan languages. Vinaka to our PVC family Branagh, Steven, Fulisia Asalemo, Lose, Sarona, Alieta and Rita for keeping the stage alive with your beautiful voices!!
Also - our resident poet and theatre Tautai (among other awesome creative titles!) Fulisia Asalemo Tofete shared two of his newest poems: LUCKY and THE PLACES I LOOK FOR LOVE. If you would like to see more of Asalemo's work, his show HOLDING THE VA premieres this month at Melbourne Fringe (Oct 14th-18th) with an All-Pacific cast! We're keeping Pasefika creative arts alive here in (windy/cold/rainy/sometimessunny) Melbourne!
