We headed on up to Barmah this weekend for some NP exploring which was easy but muddy, drove into Echuca, checked out the muster yards from the 1800s, enjoyed a meal at the Barmah pub and chilled by the river with a nice big fire and great company!

If your heading this way or in the area, drop in and give some support to this great pub and the people who work there.. This should not be allowed to happen once! Let alone twice 😑😑
Sending our best wishes and hoping you guys stay strong and in business for all the travelers that love dropping in

From one of the owners of Devils Marbles Hotel
Let’s not forget it was hit the night before too

Support them where you can - stop in for a feed or refreshment

They need us now

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support β€” it truly means the world to us right now.

We are devastated.

Our staff have been hurt, part of our business is closed, and our team is shaken.

We have poured everything into this place, and to be hit twice in two days is almost too much to put into words.

We are not writing this out of anger β€” we are writing this because we genuinely need help.

To Chief Minister Finocchiaro and Attorney-General Boothby: we respectfully ask for your support.
Remote businesses like ours are the backbone of the Stuart Highway corridor.

We need to know that those responsible will face real consequences β€” not to punish for the sake of it, but because without meaningful accountability, this will keep happening to us and to others.

We love this community. We love what this place means to travellers and locals alike. We just want to feel safe running it.

Thank you for standing with us. πŸ™

Fabulous few days with the club volunteering at the Oscars Hut to Hut! 10 years of helping the runners, feeding them, catching up and making long term friends. Fantastic, hard, grueling 100km run, 50km and 10km events. We help out for the 100.. late nights, early starts making breakfasts and cheering them off on the final leg Sunday morning. Well done to all involved! Another highly succesful Oscars event

πŸ•οΈ Packing up camp today? The job isn't finished until the fire is cold. Even if the flames are gone, hot coals can smoulder underground for days and reignite when the wind picks up.

Please remember: Burying a fire does NOT extinguish it. It just insulates the heat.

Follow these steps to ensure your campfire doesn't become a bushfire:

πŸ’¦ Drown it: Pour water on the fire until the hissing stops.

πŸͺ΅ Stir it: Use a shovel or stick to stir the ashes and break up the coals. This ensures the water reaches the heat at the bottom.

πŸͺ£ Drown it again: Apply more water to the stirred area.

βœ‹ Check it: Hold the back of your hand near the ashes to feel for radiating heat.

If it's too hot to touch, it's too hot to leave. Keep pouring and stirring until the ground is cold.

Safe to touch. Safe to leave.

Be aware!! Check the alerts and get the hell out if you are anywhere near these fires! Stay safe people!
