Great Thursday at the Fraser Coast Agricultural Show! John McDonald from John Barounis, office came to give us some support. We will be here in the Pavilion all day tomorrow. Hope to see you there 🙄❤️‍🩹🎠🎡🐾

Fraser Coast Show starts on Thursday & the Maryborough Animal Refuge Fund Raising Team will be there with bells on 🔔🔔
This is our biggest event of the year for fund raising, promotions & networking. And every cent raised goes to help rescue & rehome our beautiful homeless cats & dogs.
Come along & support us on Thursday & Friday. We will be in the Pavilion with some great raffle prizes!

The Maryborough Heritage Combined Crafts group has kindly chosen the Maryborough Animal Refuge to be the recipient of their Mother’s Day fundraising.
If you’re searching for a unique, handmade gift created by local artisans, visit their pop-up shop at Maryborough Central. It will be open from Monday 27 April through to Saturday 9 May.
As well as finding something special for the mother in your life, you will also be helping abandoned cats, dogs, kittens & puppies to find forever homes through the work of the Maryborough Animal Refuge 🐾

Ned had a lovely time meeting new people at Bunnings Stores For Paws event today. He has had a lot of interest so we really hope he finally finds his forever home.
Stop Press: Cheetoh was adopted the day after he came into the Refuge, so he gave his apologies for missing the Bunnings event 😻

Stores For Paws is happening again this Saturday at Bunnings Maryborough & across the nation. Maryborough Animal Refuge will be there from 9.30 to 11.30 with two adorable refuge animals who are looking for loving homes. And we will be holding a raffle with items donated by Bunnings. Grab a snag outside from another hard-working not-for-profit group, wander in to say “G’Day” to Ned the Kelpie & Cheetoh the three-legged cat & try your luck at the raffle.

Ned:
Meet Ned — the red and tan Kelpie with a heart full of love and a whole lot of personality.
Ned is living proof that love and being your true self can take you a long way. He’s a fun‑loving, energetic pup who balances kelpie smarts with a delightful goofball.
He loves playing outside, is both dog & cat‑social, and is crate trained and house trained. From his beautiful, expressive eyes to his quirky little tail, he’s overflowing with charm.
Ned has been fostered for several months with 4 other dogs.
His ONLY black mark is the he is overly fond of chasing hens, so would not be suitable for homes with chooks, ducks, geese etc.

Cheetoh
This charming 3-year old male cat was surrendered to the Refuge with a mangled front paw which had infected his entire leg. After amputation surgery, Cheetoh went to a foster carer for a month. Within no time, he was jumping & trotting, even though he has an endearing hoppity-hop. He is very affectionate towards people & loves, loves, loves his food. His wound has healed completely. He has been desexed & microchipped & is ready to find a home that will love him & keep him safe.
He will never be able to wander outside because he cannot protect himself adequately. But he would enjoy being a house cat with a sunny enclosure for fresh air.

WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR FIRST ADOPTION DAY FOR 2026 IS FAST APPROACHING!

SATURDAY 7th MARCH 9am-12pm at Pets Domain Maryborough

Please feel free to drop by for a chat and to meet some of the dogs that are looking for their new homes. We thoroughly enjoy talking to our lovely community about the great work we are doing at the refuge.

We will also be having a sausage sizzle on the day to raise much needed funds that will assist in finding homes for all the dogs and cats that find their way to our refuge.

Wow - January is almost gone!!! After a quiet couple of months, fund-raising events are now starting to pop up for us over the next few months.
Our regular monthly Adoption Days are restarting at Pets Domain on 7 March. You can meet some of our rescue dogs & grab a bbq bite at the same time.
Then on 11 April, we will be doing the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle.
We will keep you posted about upcoming events.
The Maryborough Animal Refuge and Pet Boarding would like to sincerely thank all those who regularly support us financially or in other ways, as well as those who generously respond to urgent requests for help that are posted on our main page.
Our Refuge could not survive without your help. All donated money goes directly towards the care of abandoned dogs, cats, puppies & kittens. We are humbled by your kindness & compassion.
