2 of our Life members.

We were delighted to welcome two of our most esteemed life members, Thelma (left) and Margaret (right) to a morning tea at the institute in May. Their presence made the morning incredibly special. Between cups of tea and catching up with familiar faces, they shared wonderful stories from our institute's early days.

Seeing their continued passion for genealogy reminds us all of the strong foundation they helped build for our community. Thank you both for your decades of dedication, your enduring support, and for brightening our morning with your visit!

🎉🎉 Happy Queensland Day! 6 June

Today, we celebrate everything that makes our Sunshine State so special - our stunning landscapes, rich history, and, of course, the amazing people who call Queensland home. But do you know the story behind Queensland Day?
On 6 June 1859, Queensland officially separated from New South Wales and became its own colony. It's a day that marks our independence and identity!

Grab a lamington, soak up the sunshine, and celebrate Queensland pride today!

These amazing couple are over at Gallipoli and they were wondering if any Thom Family members still reside in Maryborough

From the Couple that emailed us
We are currently in Gallipoli Türkiye and we came across the grave of Lieutenant THOM who died 29 Oct 1915. We have accessed his war records from the Trove database.

Are you aware of any members of the THOM family who may still reside in the Maryborough region? We would gladly lay a tribute at his gravestone on their behalf if they wish. We authorise you to release our details to any THOM family members.
