Sending our well wishes to Ken Ashford - District Commissioner for Fraser Coast, where AJ 2025 - 26th Australian Jamboree was held.

Today I visited Ken Ashford DC in Fraser District who is currently in the Wesley Hospital.
Ken was unable to attend the Jamboree due to his treatment but his local team asked me to deliver a AJ2025 pack to him.
Ken was in good spirts and we had a great chat about the Jamboree in Maryborough his home town.
Ken was presented with his AJ Shirt,Qld contingent shirt, and Program Team Shirt along with a Thank you card from the Program Director and naturally a heap of Badges.
A lovely morning catch up where he proudly displayed his Qld shirt!!!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers πŸ‘πŸ»

*** JAMBOREE AUCTION RAISES $100,000 ***
Sponsored by Winter Auctions

Sunday's Scout Auction saw over 4,500 people and around 1,000 bidders purchase everything from pool noodles to washing machines in the wind-down from the recent Jamboree attended by 11,000 Scouts and entourage.

Winter Auctions donated 100% of the commissions back to the Scouts, and 0% buyers premium to the customers.

Our thanks to the amazing Scout volunteers (the Pinkies), forklift drivers and security staff who helped funnel the huge number of people and trucks through the process.

The admin and accounts team were constantly innundated for ten hours solid and Mr Winter called his way through three and a half hours of lots on the auction list without a break.

This was a challenging auction due to lots being changed at the last minute, the result of the Jamboree only having just finished and the Scouts not really knowing what was to be sold until the very end.

Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding as we worked our way through this huge event.

Pallets of food were donated to FoodBank and other local charities, and many Scout Troops benefitted from the sale of left over items.

Shout out to all the volunteers who are still at AJ 2025 - 26th Australian Jamboree and will be for a few more days and weeks!

Pack down doesn’t happen in a day, especially considering it took over a month to build what we had.

While unit campsites are condensed to pallecons thanks to Scouts, there is still so much to do.

Scout volunteers are truly incredible people.
