South Lanarkshire Shed Network (SLSN)
Another great gathering of the South Lanarkshire Shed Network (SLSN), this time in the fabulous surroundings of East Kilbride Men’s Shed.
A great mix of Sheds from across the region came together for a meeting, with plenty of sharing, supporting and the usual good Shed chat! We had a really useful input from Heather Coulthard of The Wise Group, providing plenty of food for thought and discussion.
Plenty happening on the publishing front too! SL Seniors Together have produced the latest edition of The Chronicle, expertly edited by John Graham. We also heard how the latest edition of South Lanarkshire Shedders Together is coming along – another fantastic showcase of the people, projects and achievements across our Sheds.
Bringing generations together
Following the success of a student placement at East Kilbride Men’s Shed, Glasgow Kelvin College is now looking for other Sheds interested in following suit. A brilliant opportunity for Sheds to share their skills and experience while giving students a valuable insight into the world of Shedders.
An exciting new development
Sandra Davidson from Compassionate Kilbryde Hospice at Hairmyres gave us an update on the exciting plans for a new Shed development at the hospice. It was warmly received by everyone, with attendees voicing their full support and offering their help and assistance.
And finally, a great opportunity for Biggar and District Men's Shed, with an exhibition of Shed photographs planned in the neighbouring church – another chance to showcase what sheds are all about to the wider community.
Lots of ideas, opportunities, support and collaboration – exactly what a shed network should be about.
A great meeting, great hospitality from East Kilbride, and plenty to take forward.
