Parent Pathways SMYL - Peel SMYL is a Parent Pathways provider delivering a free service for eligible parents and carers of children under six.

We offer personalised support, mentoring, and financial assistance for working towards your goals – all at your own pace. ParentsNext Project providers work with parents to help them to identify their education and employment goals, develop a pathway to achieve their goals and link them to activities and services in the local community.

Smylie the Bear is having a wonderful day at the Jarrahdale Log Chop & SJ Lions Country Fair! 🐻🌿

Smylie loves meeting people from the community, watching the log chop and checking out the steam powered machinery. There is plenty to see, and Smylie even made some new friends along the way.

Parent Pathways is excited to be heading along to the Jarrahdale Log Chop & SJ Lions Country Fair this Sunday! 🌳🪓

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic family day out, with food trucks, children’s entertainment, a petting zoo, Ranger Red, market stalls, face painting and, of course, all the action of the Log Chop!

Balancing parenting, study and your own personal goals can sometimes feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day.

A few small changes can make things feel more manageable. Try breaking bigger goals into smaller steps, setting aside realistic pockets of time for study or planning, and giving yourself some flexibility when family life doesn’t go to plan.

Remember, progress doesn’t have to happen all at once. Even one small step towards something you want to achieve is still progress.

Through Parent Pathways, you can work with a mentor to explore your goals, identify your next steps and find support that works around you and your family.

Free technology support is available through many local libraries, with help for things like emails, phones, online services, apps and basic computer skills.

For parents thinking about study, training or work, improving your digital confidence can make the next step feel a little easier.

Parent Pathways can help you connect with local support and work towards your goals in a way that suits you and your family.

A good coffee, a muffin and a chat with other mums can make all the difference.

SMYL is hosting a Mother's Catch Up at Muffin Break. It's a great chance to meet new people, enjoy a cuppa and connect with others who understand the ups and downs of parenting.

Your coffee and a muffin are on us! Current Parent Pathways participants, as well as eligible mums and carers interested in joining the program, are welcome.

You can choose to join when you're ready, take a break if you need to, leave the program, or come back at any time.

There are no obligations. Our role is simply to support you with the goals that matter to you, whether that's building your confidence, exploring study or training, preparing for work or accessing support in your local community.

Everything happens at your pace and in a way that works around you and your family.

We're here when you're ready.

It’s shaping up to be a great day out, with wood chopping, more than 100 stalls, kids’ rides, local produce, food and entertainment all happening at Jarrahdale Oval.

You’ll find the SMYL team there too! Drop by our stall for a chat, meet some of the team and find out more about what we do in the community.

The Preston Beach Spring Fete is on Sunday 27 September, with plenty happening for the whole family.

There'll be arts and crafts, market stalls, food, live music and plenty of games and activities to keep the kids entertained.

Today, our Parent Pathways team came together for a morning tea and an important reminder to take the time to ask a simple question: “R U OK?”

R U OK? Day reminds us that you don’t need to be an expert to check in with someone. A genuine conversation and taking the time to listen can make a real difference.

At Parent Pathways, supporting people is at the heart of what we do, and that includes supporting each other. Today was a chance for our staff to connect, share a cuppa and some treats, and remind one another that it’s okay to speak up when things aren’t okay. 💛
