We'll start off at 8.30am with the 500m splash and dash, all swimmers aged 8 and up welcome. The 1km and 2.5km swims follow, for swimmers aged 12 and up.

The last swim in the Triple Crown Challenge

South Maroubra Ocean Swim is the ultimate season-closer. Set at one of Sydney’s classic southern beaches, this swim wraps up the summer calendar with a bang.

Come along for friendly finish-line vibes, crisp autumn water, and a beach buzzing with post-swim banter and celebrations. The South Maroubra SLSC knows how to welcome all comers, with solid water safety, and a community atmosphere that hits all the right notes.

Choose your challenge: the short and sharp 500m, a cruisey 1km, or the longer 2.5km loop around the bay.

If you completed the Malabar Magic Virtual Swim, you’re still in the running for the Flooring Xtra Triple Crown Series and a chance to win one of two $1,000 cash prizes.

The series continues this Sunday 12 April at the Coogee Island Challenge. Complete any distance to remain in contention, with one $1,000 prize awarded to a male swimmer and one to a female swimmer.

Then finish the series at South Maroubra SLSC Ocean Swim on Sunday 26 April to qualify for the final draw and join the dedicated Triple Crown swimmers completing the full set.

The Coogee Island Challenge Autumn Edition is one of the final major ocean swims of the season and a second chance to take on the iconic Wedding Cake Island circuit before winter sets in.

The Malabar Magic Virtual Swim 2026 has now come to a close, and we can’t thank you enough for getting behind this reimagined event and supporting Rainbow Club during what has been a challenging year.

Your enthusiasm, fundraising and willingness to jump in and swim anywhere made this year’s virtual event something truly special. Every dollar raised helps ensure Rainbow Club can continue delivering its specialised swimming programs for young people with a disability.

Congratulations to our top individual fundraiser Jackie Blue and top team Team Sydney South, who have both won Captain Cook Cruises experiences, thanks to the generous support of our friends at Captain Cook Cruises.

We also want to thank all of our wonderful sponsors who have continued to support the event, including Randwick City Council, along with our many corporate supporters and in-kind prize donors. Your generosity helped make this year’s event special for everyone who took part.

A huge shoutout to our incredible top fundraiser for the second year in a row – Jackie Blue! 👏🌈

Jackie has once again gone above and beyond for the Malabar Magic Virtual Swim, smashing both her swimming and fundraising goals with the wonderful support of her friend Louise Sauvage.

Every year Jackie jumps in to “swim the rainbow” in support of Rainbow Club Australia, helping raise vital funds so children and young people with a disability can access personalised swimming lessons and develop confidence and safety in the water.

Since she first started taking part in 2013, Jackie and her supporters have raised over $20,000 for Rainbow Club — now that’s magic! ✨

There are only a few days left until the Virtual Swim closes and the big prize draw on Monday, so there’s still time to get behind our swimmers, make a donation and be part of the Magic.
