This past weekend, the Gujaga Foundation was proud to sponsor the Lapa Lovelies at the Annual Netball Koori Knockout.

The Lovelies took 6 teams to the knockout, with 4 teams making the semi finals. The U/10s and Women’s made the Grand Final, with the Women’s coming home with the win.

A special shoutout to the 13’s mixed team who won the Team Spirit Award for their age group, the open women’s won the Grand Final and Nessa Ingrey won MVP of the Opens Women’s tournament.

Supporting our young people and community through sport is something we’re incredibly passionate about, with both girls and boys representing La Perouse with pride, culture and community spirit.

This past week, the Gujaga Foundation has been celebrating NSW Aboriginal Languages Week.

For Aboriginal Languages Week, we’re celebrating language by using it.

More opportunities for our young people to hear, learn and speak Dharawal means more opportunities for language to continue through generations.

Over the school holidays, the Gujaga Foundation hosted the Dharawal Language and Cultural Camp, bringing our kids together for 3 days of learning. ⛺️👣

It was a fun and engaging way to support the next generation to learn and use Dharawal language and culture, strengthening their sense of cultural identity and belonging.

The Gujaga Foundation is preserving the Dharawal language in our community for future generations.

That’s why I’m very proud that the Albanese Government is partnering with the Gujaga Foundation to ensure that we continue to teach and propagate the Dharawal language in our community.

🏆 CHAMPIONS! 🏆

A huge congratulations to the La Perouse Panthers Under 15s on taking out the competition at this year’s Koori Knockout!

The Gujaga Foundation was incredibly proud to support this team and watch the boys represent La Perouse with pride, determination and community spirit.

What an incredible achievement for the players, coaches, families and everyone who supported them along the way. Your hard work and commitment have made the whole community proud.
