After their excursion, the kids came back together to build on what they learned by taking part in an artefact‑making workshop. This deepened their understanding of Dharawal culture and the significance of these practices being passed on.

Recently, Gujaga Foundation took Dharawal kids from the La Perouse Aboriginal Community on an excursion, hearing and seeing stories of significance to Dharawal people, and taking part in fun language games on the beach.

This week, we proudly partnered with Briar Road Public School to celebrate NSW Aboriginal Languages Week.

The students from preschool to Year 6 were immersed in Dharawal language and cultural activities. This year’s theme, “Let Our Voices Fly”, resonates with our ongoing work to revitalise and share Dharawal language with the next generation.

Thank you to the Briar Rd Public School community for celebrating this week with us.
