Barb runs a fun singing session every Thursday from 1.30-3pm. If you like singing for the fun of it, in the car or the shower, why not join Barb and others and have a sing and a laugh? $10 on the day.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are seeking a few volunteers to help us out at our new venue at the Old Lilydale Train Station. The station is twice as big as our previous home, and we now have to look after a very large area which is divided into two.
We are particularly looking for people who are willing to commit a couple of hours a week on a regular basis. The main times we need help are Mondays 2-4pm, Tuesday 2-4pm, Wednesdays 10am-3pm or a couple of hours on Thursdays during the hours of 9am-4pm.
Duties are many and varied. This may include reception, guiding people from one area to the other, answering questions, helping set up for or packing down an activity, some light cleaning. Other assistance may be helping keep the entrance platform clean and weeded or any other things that might come up.
We are also registered with Centrelink for those who need to meet their 15 hours a week volunteer obligations.
If you could spare a couple of hours or more a week, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to drop in, or ring us on 0493 150 176. (We are still waiting for our landline and internet to be connected!)
Our open hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9am-4pm and Wednesday 10am-3pm.

Soup & Stories this week was again not soup! We had roast chicken, potato and cauliflower bake, sweet potato and salad greens.
Creative Arts was in its second week, and Paint Draw in the morning welcomed back a few long standing attendees who were coming to the station for the first time.

Our weekly Women's Walking Group walked yesterday from the Station to and around Lilydale Lake in lovely weather, returning for a cuppa. Singing Circle had some of their songs recorded yesterday, which was great! And Cooking Together began as well, making delicious Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls followed by Lemon, Ricotta and Coconut Cake which was really delicious!

Join our Women's Walking Group tomorrow for a walk around the area and return for a cuppa and muffin. Walkers leave at 9.30am sharp. Free.
Singing Circle is also on at 1.30pm - $10 pay on the day.

We are currently waiting for stove tops to be installed so have to be inventive for Soup & Stories. Yesterday we had spinach and cheese triangles, and a variety of dips with bread. We also had an afternoon tea to thank the volunteers who had helped us with the move with a cake or two.
Paint, Draw was on in the morning, and Creative Art started in the afternoon. A full day!!

Last Wednesday, Yarra Ranges Council officially launched the opening of the Old Lilydale Train Station. Community members, along with Councillors and Council staff attended. YRC Mayor Richard Higgins and Government Minister Harriet Shing, spoke about this beautiful historic and heritage listed building, and its use for the community now that it is fully renovated. Lilydale Community House now has a new home! The refurbishment was delivered by VicTrack and jointly funded by the State Government and Yarra Ranges Council.

We started up yesterday at the Old Lilydale Train Station and welcomed back people to Soup & Stories and Paint, Draw, Create, Explore.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to Community Bank Mt Evelyn for their generous funding which enabled us to fit out the new venue with portable tables and chairs in the “Refreshment Room” and “Community Room”. Without people banking with the Community Bank, there wouldn’t be funds available to support community groups like us, through grants and sponsorships! We truly appreciate the opportunity and are grateful for Community Bank Mt Evelyn's support!
