Community Information and Support Yarra Ranges supports Financial Counselling Victoria - FCVic and other community organisations in their request to the Victorian Premier, for an urgent relief package to support the financial counselling sector response to the cost of living crisis in Victoria.

Financial counsellors assist more than 23,000 Victorians each year – including people impacted by catastrophic natural disasters, newly arrived migrants and refugees, and more than 3,800 family violence victim-survivors. However, lengthy wait times are pushing households into dire circumstances before they can access assistance.

Immediate government intervention is needed to alleviate pressure and reduce wait times for service.
