We provide welfare, pensions and advocacy services. Veterans of Australia Association is now a REGISTERED CHARITY & DEDUCTIBLE GIFT RECIPIENT (DGR) which means donations to VOA are tax deductible. Veterans who fall under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act and the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act , its Legislation and policy are being crucified and do not seem to have any fo
rmal representation. Veterans and their families are missing out on the benefits and entitlements that those who fall under VEA (Veterans Entitlement Act) are receiving and rightly so they should. why are veterans not entitled to all the same benefits and classifications, why are veterans treated differently under three separate Acts of legislation….? With the Federal Government Now introducing a fourth! Younger Veterans do not have a voice and this appears to be the case all over Australia as we do not have a voice in DVA policy making relating to younger veterans and their entitlements. It is time we have representation and input to decisions about our entitlements and input into the policy and legislation that is affecting us! Our mates who served in the Vietnam War had to do this in order to be recognised, it has come to the point where we must do the same. I am committed to forming one association for all Veterans and their families regardless if you served in war zone, if you wore the uniform you are a veteran. We need to unite as one to stand up for our rights to be equally treated by the Department of Veteran Affairs in relation to our welfare, pensions, entitlements and benefits. The DVA and its Ministers believe they are doing the right thing by the Veteran Community by consulting with certain prominent large veteran organisations, however these organisations keep supporting legislation that is detrimental to the veteran community at large. Our membership fee is only $20.00 per year, please join and through your support behind us, we will not stop until veterans have a voice of their own again!
