Queensland needs a clear, coordinated plan to prevent sexual violence and reduce offending.

At the same time, specialist sexual violence services need funding certainty beyond 2027 to avoid a looming funding cliff.

QSAN stands ready to work with government to develop this plan and build and strengthen the specialist workforce, ensuring victim-survivors receive the timely, high-quality support they deserve when they reach out for help.

Family isn’t just defined by biology—it’s defined by love, dedication, and care.

On this Global Day of Parents, HBNC wants to send a massive thank you to every kind of parental figure in our region. To the mums, dads, foster carers, grandparents and mentors who provide a safe, nurturing space for children to grow—you are making a world of difference.

The UN theme for this year is “Together for Parents.” It’s a beautiful reminder that when we support caregivers, we are investing in a healthier, happier future for our whole community.

If you are a parent or carer navigating the beautiful chaos of raising kids, remember that HBNC is part of your village. We’re here to support you.

Did you know that HBNC runs Free playgroup sessions every week? If you are interested to see what they get up too; Follow Play With Your Kids.

She works full time. She misses her baby. She cannot afford to quit. So her father made a choice.
He drives to her workplace. Every single day. He brings the baby. She takes her lunch break. They sit together. She nurses. She plays. She just holds her child. Then she goes back to work. He drives the baby home.
No payment. No praise. No social media video. Just a grandpa who decided that his daughter should not have to choose between feeding her family and holding her baby.
Here is what that daily drive represents. It is not just childcare. It is a statement. I see your struggle. I will not let you carry it alone. I cannot fix the system, but I can fix your afternoon.
That is the village everyone talks about but few actually have. A grandparent who is not babysitting. A grandparent who is partnering.
Feel good Friday is not about grand gestures. It is about the small ones. Repeated. Reliably. Without keeping score.
That is love. That is legacy. That is what showing up really looks like.
