📢 Volunteers are putting their hands up to become Habitat Trackers. Will you be one of them?

Habitat Tracker is Trees For Life’s first citizen science project - and we’re inviting existing volunteers to get involved by testing ways to measure the health of habitats we’re restoring across the state.

Beginning in April, volunteer Citizen Scientists will receive training before heading out in pairs to survey their restoration site and collect data.

You don’t need a qualification - just curiosity and a willingness to learn. Habitat Tracker is about bringing the community along on the scientific journey.

It’s an opportunity to:
🌿 Learn new skills
🌿 Connect with nature in a new way
🌿 Contribute to meaningful environmental science

We’d love our community to be part of this new project!

TODAY we released our 2026 State Election Scorecard, looking at how the parties compare on tackling our housing emergency.

We looked at the 4 political parties likely to poll the highest number of votes: the Labor Party, the Liberal Party, the Greens, and One Nation.

We rated them on 3 issues:

1. Will they commit to building the substantial (thousands!!) of public homes we need to seriously reduce the waiting list and tackle community need?

2. Will they address soaring rent rises by agreeing to cap or control rent rises?

3. Will they take action on the thousands of private homes needlessly left vacant during the current crisis?
