Tomorrow at Harmony Kids Multicultural Playgroup, we are celebrating Africa Day!

Get ready for African inspired sensory play, colouring, craft activities, singing and dancing.

Our multicultural playgroup is fun and welcoming space for children and families to learn, connect, and belong ❤️

Australia is full of amazing cultures, languages and stories, and the Census on 11 August helps make sure they’re all recognised. But what exactly is the Census and why does it matter? 🤔

It’s how decision makers learn what our communities need, from schools to hospitals to language services. Every five years, your answers help shape better services, deliver more support and build stronger communities.

That means your language, culture and background are key pieces of the Australian Bureau of Statistics' puzzle.

For example, some public libraries use the information to identify language needs in the local community to build their bilingual book collections and source language support materials. 📚

So how do I take part? The Census form is delivered to all homes and it's one form per household. Once completed it can be submitted online via a unique code or sent back in the mail. For those in remote or rural areas, Field Officers conduct visits to ensure everyone is counted. It's as easy as that! ✅

This year’s theme, “All In,” reminds us that reconciliation is not just something we acknowledge for one week. It is something we continue to work towards every day through respect, truth-telling, listening, learning, and walking together.

We acknowledge and pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the lands we live, work, and gather on. We honour Elders past and present, and recognise the strength, culture, and ongoing connection of First Nations peoples to Country, community, and culture.

Together, we can help build a future grounded in respect, understanding, and unity.

Playgroup runs from 9:30am to 11:30am. Please arrive by 9:45am so your child can join our Morning Circle.

Join us for our free yoga classes during the school term. Everyone is welcome. This is your time to slow down, look after your wellbeing, and enjoy gentle movement in a supportive community space.

Today at playgroup we celebrated International Day of Living Together in Peace. We had 57 beautiful children at our playgroup who played, learned and enjoyed all our activities.

Thank you to for supporting our growing Multicultural Playgroup here in Gladstone.
