It was great to give the Port Curtis District Scouts an experience in fox hunting at the recent Wonga Totem District Camp. The club and the Scouts now have access to three new radio transmitters (foxes) thanks to this simple and cheap Arduino Nano design.

Australian Government Promotes The Value Of WINLINK Email Over Radio. https://www.sws.bom.gov.au/Educational/5/2/5

This article is very timely given the looming state of emergency in SEQ that could knock out normal communication infrastructure.

Winlink is shaping up to the be the backbone of our radio clubs WICEN - Gladstone Amateur Radio Club group.

With the progress towards a local VHF Winlink gateway as well as access to Australia wide HF gateways, now is a good time to gain this skill set and equipment capability.

You can reach out to myself, YouTube or the Winlink website for more information. https://winlink.org/

It is now possible to access the internet via HF radio. Although the access speed is slow, the arrangement is capable of providing email communications to very remote or mobile locations where satellite internet access is not possible because of ground infrastructure or cost.
