The way people volunteer is changing. How do we make sure our region changes with it?

That was the focus of NFP House’s latest Volunteer Connect Advisory Group meeting, exploring what the Queensland Volunteering Inquiry could mean for our local community.

We’re continuing to develop a local transition strategy to support the next chapter of volunteering in our region.

"Thank you - this opened my eyes to what needs to be done and the support that is available.”

Representatives from local not-for-profit organisations in Agnes Water and 1770, came together to explore key ways to strengthen and empower their organisations. Participants left feeling inspired, motivated, and better equipped to make a difference in their communities.

Prue from the 1770 Arts organisation shared valuable best-practice tips and insights, while working closely with NFP House to help make the event a success.

This is exactly why we are so grateful for the support of FRRR, who have funded NFP House to provide ongoing mentoring to community organisations across our region.

It’s great to see the BTFC come through its AGM with a strong committee in place, and we’re proud to have been able to support the process.

Good governance doesn’t happen from a one-off workshop. Having funding that allows us to walk alongside committees, provide practical advice and mentoring when they need it, and help build their confidence and capability over time makes such a difference.

Well done to Gladstone United Soccer Club ⚽👏

The club has grown significantly over the past few years, which is a great achievement, but growth also brings new challenges.

They are undertaking an NFP House Organisational Health Check to look at what’s working, where they can strengthen their systems and governance, and what they need to put in place to take the club to the next level.

So inspiring to see volunteers investing in the future of the club and dedicating so much of their time and effort to making our community stronger.

This initiative is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
