NFP House

NFP House Not-For-Profit House (NFP House) leaders in the not for profit sector! A key objective of NFP House is to help reduce duplication and optimise community assets.

To strengthen a resilient, skilled, compliant not for profit sector that contributes to the local economy and community wellbeing. We offer affordable services to the NFP sector and help provide solutions to two familiar resource challenges felt by NFPs, time and budget. We enable not-for-profits (NFPs) to build their capacity and resilience and improve the benefits they offer our community. Our c

orporate partnerships enable us to provide quality services at accessible rates to NFPs that might otherwise be outside of their financial reach. We provide the creative space for partnership opportunities between NFPs by coordinating collaborative initiatives and projects including regional funding submissions.

👏 It was great to work with the South End Progress Association with an organisational health check, and see the strong systems they have in place.

The Association plays an important role in bringing people together and creating a connected, active community on Curtis Island.

Strong community organisations don’t happen by accident, they rely on committed volunteers, good governance and practical systems that allow people to get on with the work that matters.

This project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

Thank you Hayley for your volunteering efforts!

In partnership with the Gladstone Area Water Board, volunteers are needed to help welcome visitors and support the interpretive display during opening hours and tour bookings at Gladstone Aquaculture Centre at Awoonga Dam.

✨ What’s involved?
• 3-hour shifts (mid-morning to early afternoon), including a live fish feeding
• Chatting with visitors about aquaculture, the fish stocking program, recreation, and our local waterways
• Learning along the way — no fishing background is required to shine in this roll!

Whether you’d like to volunteer weekly, fortnightly or once a month — they’ll work around what suits you.

If you’re ready to get involved, check out the opportunity via our Volunteer Portal:

This week we completed an Organisational Health Check with the Probus Club. While Probus is part of a well-established international organisation with excellent resources, every local club is different. Turning those resources into practical action at the local level is where organisations often benefit from a helping hand.

That’s something we see regularly at NFP House. National and state peak bodies provide outstanding frameworks, but local committees still need support to prioritise, plan and implement improvements that work for their members and community.

We love working with proactive volunteers who dedicate time to help others. This group let some older members relax and enjoy the activities while choosing to step up themselves. Very heartwarming!

Well done to Probus Gladstone for getting off to a great start, only established in 2025.

A huge congratulations to the incredible women at QCWA Tannum Sands Branch. Since completing their Organisational Health Check they have:
✔️ Improved approximately 75% of bench marks
✔️ Maintained approximately 25%
✔️ Had no areas decline

That's a fantastic result and a credit to the committee's commitment to continually improving their club.

Thank you for trusting NFP House to be part of the journey.

This project is jointly funded by the Australian Government and the Queensland Government under the Disaster Ready Fund.

What a week of mentoring...

It’s been fantastic to see the growth of ART@BITS, a startup created in response to a community need for local artists to find a space and network to connect and be active. From an idea sparked by passion and purpose, and within one week ART@BITS has now become a registered organisation and is attracting new members.

This is what strong communities are built on, people identifying a need, taking action, and creating something meaningful together.

If your organisation needs support at any stage of its journey, call into NFP House. We’re here to provide guidance, mentoring and support to help your organisation grow and succeed.

This project is supported by FRRR, through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
