How do you turn your experiences into stories that inspire others? 🎤✨

Our Ambassadors explored exactly that during an engaging Public Speaking & Storytelling workshop with Jacqueline Bignell, Founder of Professional Speakers Incubator and creator of SpeakLabs.

Through practical and interactive exercises, participants learned how to craft compelling stories and connect with an audience in a meaningful way. They also shared their own stories, putting into practice how authentic storytelling can be used to create positive change.

A huge thank you to Jacqueline for an empowering evening of learning and growth, and to Ambassador Jenny for helping MC the workshop. 🧡

Meet our alumni speaker for the 2026 Good Business Forum!

“In Year 9, I received my first Western Chances scholarship. It meant schoolbooks I didn't have to return. Transport to get to school. A new uniform instead of a second-hand one. Small things that made a big difference to a teenage girl just trying to fit in and focus on her studies.”

Today, Melissa is Head of Compliance for Australia and New Zealand at IG Group, our major event sponsor for this year’s Good Business Forum.

Her story truly embodies this year’s event theme, from Education to Employment, and the meaningful difference that your support can make in a young person’s journey.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from Melissa live at this year’s event. Purchase tickets through the following link: https://events.humanitix.com/western-chances-good-business-forum-2026

Workshop 4 of our Ambassador Program was all about meaningful networking! 🤝

The interactive session introduced participants to the Connection Literacy Framework where our ambassadors explored how to build genuine professional relationships, navigate networking with confidence and make the most of every opportunity to connect.

Our Ambassadors, Tom and Shaurya, shared their reflections from the session:

💬 “The workshop reframed the idea of networking into one focusing on building meaningful connections and relationships. In a practical sense, this also teaches that one meaningful conversation is far better than having multiple superficial connections.”

💬 “The most overlooked part of networking is the "in between time". Being authentically invested in someone after you've met them is what turns a contact into a connection”

A big thank you to our facilitators Rhyll, Founder of The Potential Detective and former CEO of Western Chances, and Lien, a Western Chances alum and Senior Coordinator at Asialink Business. Thank you also to our Ambassador, Steven, for his support facilitating the session! 🌟
