A little something you may want to share… and thank you from a firey.

I am currently deployed to the Longwood fires. The love and care the community is showing toward all of us out here is incredible. I have never been given so many snacks and care packages in my life.

As well as all the people who are donating snack foods ( you had no idea how good mini packs of chips taste, until you have eaten them after putting out a burning tree 😂), pinchapoo have done a delivery of toiletries. Being able to wash and condition my hair ( yes I forgot shampoo) and pick up a lip balm ( mine is on the kitchen bench at home) means I sleep tonight feeling a little more human, before we get back into it tomorrow.

Doing this sort of thing, it’s the little things that make a world of difference.

Hi everyone!

I hope you've been able to see the photos from the Victorian Bushfire Relief Run journey north to CFA stations today. I've loved spotting bags we loaded (like the one pictured in this post, from Christine, and which i particularly enjoyed for its energetic vibes!) sitting right there beside brigade members! It helps me imagine the person who will be opening that bag and receiving some relief at the start or end of a long day.

VBRR is asking some questions while they're up there to learn what's needed on the ground. This will inform what we do next.

In the meantime, I'm keen to get my hands on backpacks, do you reckon you can find some for us?

Old school bags?
Op shops?
Under the bed?

On another note, i also realised with regret that in my post yesterday i completely forgot to thank Aish, who dropped off some goods and then hung around to fix my signage, get support from the Happy Apple staff to promote in their shop, and she also nabbed me a prime parking posi right out front, with great visibility for shoppers. What a legend. Thank you, Aish 💪🏼
