We are so looking forward to having Sharv join the team for the next few months as part of our low cost counselling clinic! Read below to find out a bit more about them 🫶🏾
Sharv (they/them) is a postgraduate counselling student with international experience across counselling, education, and social justice advocacy in Singapore, Canada, Sri Lanka, and Australia. Their work is grounded in commitments to intersectionality, anti-oppressive practice, and culturally responsive care.
With particular interests in s*x and intimacy, race-based traumatic stress, and q***r-affirming care, Sharv’s therapeutic approach is humanistic and person-centred, integrating Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Grounded in lived and living experience, Sharv brings relational, cultural, and practice-based knowledge to support a wide range of clients and presentations. They have a particular passion for supporting:
• LGBTQIASB+ individuals and couples
• People of the global majority
• Immigrants and international students
Sharv is also looking forward to working with folks:
• Navigating migration-related stress and anxiety
• Interested in Identity exploration
• Living with self-esteem concerns
• Impacted by Intergenerational trauma
• Pulled by Gender and s*xuality exploration
• Experiencing Relationship difficulties (including attachment insecurity and loneliness)
• Identity related difficulties
Sharv will be offering sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays in person (Footscray) or online. Sessions are $50 for 60 min sessions with concession sessions ($40) available for healthcare card holders and international students.
