Let’s build a community orchestra - inclusive, collaborative and all about community!

07/10/2026

Three years of music-making and community-building! 🎉🎶🙌

From our very first rehearsal to the performance you’re watching right now, we are so proud of how far we’ve come, the connections we’ve made and the incredible live music experiences we’ve shared.

None of it would be possible without our amazing audience, our dedicated musicians and everyone who has supported us along the way. ✨

And if you think we sound great here, you won’t want to miss our next concert - THE CINEMATIC SCORE - on 21 November, when we bring the sounds of the silver screen to life 🎞️

Help us celebrate! 🎉 Gift us with your favourite IWSO moment so far by dropping it in the comments! 🎁🧡

We’ve all been moved by the extraordinary power of a great film score. 🎬✨

A soaring melody. A pulsating rhythm … just a few notes can create suspense, adventure or romance on the screen.

Join us for a spectacular celebration of film music featuring the unforgettable scores of John Williams, Ennio Morricone, Bernard Herrmann and Howard Shore, to name a few.

Performed live by more than 100 musicians and singers, this concert will bring together iconic themes from ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘The Mission’, ‘Vertigo’, ‘Apocalypse Now, ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, and more.

We know you’re going to love it, so for the first time ever, we’re putting on TWO SHOWS! 💫

Some of our musicians will be ‘feeling it live’ in a whole new way in the Maribyrnong River Run on Sunday 13 September, and they need your support! 💫

They’re putting down their instruments and will be running or walking to raise funds for our amazing orchestra. All the distances are covered, from 5 km to the half marathon 👏🏃🏽‍♀️

Funds raised will go towards music hire costs and percussion instruments so we can continue enriching our local community with inspiring live music performances.

Your support will help us keep the music live 🧡🎶

Sunday. Williamstown Town Hall.

An orchestra playing in t-shirts.

The bar was run by locals. Barbarian Brewing Co and Coco Loco | Alcoholic Coconut Water

Pete built his brewpub on working bees. Locals turned up and did the work.

Jill put it plain. Grow from your heartland.

Community is attendance.

A hall fills. A business stands. Same law.

Workers of imagination.
Discipline Creates Momentum.

Build where you already are.

Feel it. Live Inner West Symphony Orchestra

Bringing live music to our community is something we’re pretty passionate about.

That’s why we are super excited to be part of this event alongside some of the West’s most talented songwriters.

The funds raised will go directly towards making more live music, more often, right here in the West.

Come along and be part of it!
