Taking a moment to acknowledge two amazing people who have left a positive mark on the world, and a feeling of loss upon their passing.

Dolly Parton and Tim Curry were both life long dog lovers and heavily supported multiple charities centered around animal rescue. Tim spoke with such love about his dogs in many interviews over the years and many rescues have shared their stories of his generosity. Dolly loved her dogs so much she wrote a song about one of them and has been a well documented animal welfare philanthropist. Good people doing good things.

Vale Dolly & Tim.

HI Ken Behrens!
Time to have a look ata the oldies like Sam and Opie such lovely dogs. They really should be in a loving home in their old age. Can you give them that warm spot in your heart.

Long termers - Tigger who is a fun loving boy who has been at the pound 6mths is well and truly ready for that warm bed and tones of love. Lets get Tigger his wish.

When visiting dogs at DAS, remember to take a few treats with you. When dogs first enter the yard, they often spend time sniffing and exploring all the exciting smells, or they may engage more with the handler they already know. This isn’t a reflection of the dog at all — they’ve just spent a lot of time in their run and are enjoying the open space.
Bringing treats can really help them engage with you and start building that all-important connection ❤️
What can you do to help?
- Become a foster carer. Visit the link below to apply to be a foster carer. This doesn't commit you to being a carer, but it starts the conversation. https://fosterdogs.org/foster/information-about-fostering-2/

DAS is always happy to see potential adopters come out to check out the dogs in person. Check out the DAS website for all the new dogs looking for a home that are not on here yet. Did you know DAS now has its own Instagram account? - check it out, follow and don't forget the DAS website as well.

Answering the question everyone has been asking themselves... What would Thor look like as a crocheted toy? Well, he would look something like this!!!

The real, non crocheted Thor is looking for his forever home. He is desexed, gentle with calm teenagers, sit politely and waits for food, super gentle with taking treats and sleeps peacefully in his crate. He doesn't jump, bark at visitors or dig!

He loves toys, walks, sniffs, enrichment, the hose or a shower, and most of all he LOVES a nap.

Thor is looking for a quiet place. No cats or pocket pets, secure fencing, teenagers that are gentle, calm, and respectful. He wants to be an only dog with inside and outside access. And most importantly he wants his people to appreciate that he thrives on patience, routine, love, and space. He loves gentle affection and cuddles on his terms but not so keen on people getting right up into his face.

Want to learn more about Thor or put in an application to adopt? Visit https://fosterdogs.org/dogs/das-yard-17-thor/ # to find his profile.
