Today is World Gratitude Day, and we're taking a moment to say thank you.

To our supporters, volunteers, partnership coordinators, Board, staff, and, most importantly, our incredible community partners across seven countries, thank you for being part of the indigo community.

For more than 25 years, you've shown that lasting change grows through respect, trust and long-term partnerships. Every conversation, every shared idea, every donation, every hour volunteered and every act of support helps strengthen communities leading their own futures.

We're grateful to stand alongside people who remind us every day that hope is something we build together.

Thank you for believing in a world where opportunity shouldn't depend on where you're born.

We love seeing our partners at HAKO Women’s Collective welcoming new skills and new perspectives through the Australian Volunteers Program.

Volunteers play such an important role in strengthening local organisations by sharing knowledge, building capacity and supporting the incredible work already being led by communities.

Helping young people find their voice is about more than building confidence - it's about strengthening future leaders and advocates for change.

Through JDN Timor-Leste Job Club, 37 young people developed public speaking skills while exploring important topics including gender equality, preventing sexual harassment, respectful relationships and disability inclusion.

We're proud to support JDN's community-led work in Timor-Leste and grateful to everyone who made this training possible. 💜

Even in the most challenging circumstances, children need opportunities to play, create and simply be children.

In Gaza, our partner Basma Society for Culture and Arts is creating small spaces of relief through puppet-making, storytelling and creative play. Led by young people from the community, these sessions offer children moments of connection, expression and learning amid ongoing conflict.

Food is more than nourishment in Eastern Indonesia — it is culture, resilience and community.

Across Adonara and Lembata, women and young people are leading local solutions to strengthen food security through seed banks, food festivals, tree planting and shared knowledge that will benefit generations to come.

In May JDN organised a workshop for young men from Aldeia Loce-neon and Mura in Suco Santa Cruz to share information’s about gender equality and sexual harassment. During the discussions one participant shared that his teacher is always harassing female students in the classroom. The young women did not know what to do but luckily at the time one activist from JDN was also in that class and spoke to the teacher and because of this he changed his behaviour. All of the young people that participated in this workshop decided to become activists and commit to taking action to make the community and the campus safe.

Together, we exceeded our End of Financial Year Appeal goal, raising more than $75,000.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our appeal, encouraged others to give, or supported us throughout June.

Your generosity means our grassroots partners can continue creating opportunities for women, girls and communities through education, livelihoods and local leadership.

Because of you, community-led organisations across India, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Rwanda, Palestine and Papua New Guinea can continue the work they know is needed most.
