Cancer Council ACT

Cancer Council ACT Established as the ACT Cancer Society in 1968, we began providing a broad range of service from 1976 and are the leading cancer charity in ACT.

Cancer Council ACT has been advocating for Canberrans living with cancer for almost 50 years. We are a group of passionate healthcare professionals and operational staff who are dedicated to a cancer-free future for the nation’s capital. Together, it’s all of us against cancer. Cancer Council is the only charity that works across every area of cancer, from research to prevention and support. Every

day, we support people affected by cancer when they need it most, speak out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

This ‘Wear It Purple Day’, we’re shining a light on inclusive cancer care 💜

Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and respected when accessing cancer care.

New episodes of season 3 of our Let’s Chat Cancer podcast have just dropped! This season explores LGBTQIA+ people and cancer, with its episodes providing guidance for health professionals. These two new episodes focus on the risk factors LGBTQIA+ people can face when navigating cancer and the healthcare system. A huge thank you to Harry from Meridian ACT for joining us.

🎧 Episode 3: Risk factors part 1

🎧 Episode 4: Risk factors part 2

If you haven’t listened yet, or it’s been a while, this Wear It Purple Day is a great time to tune in💜 Let’s work together to create more inclusive and supportive care.
