Scouts Australia

Scouts Australia Scouts Australia is Australia's largest youth development organisation & provides young Aussies aged 5 to 25 with opportunities to grow through adventure!

Scouts Australia is the largest youth development organisation in Australia with around 70,000 members, and provides young Aussies aged 5 to 25 with a wide range of opportunities to grow through adventure. Today’s Scouts can take part in an extraordinary variety of outdoor activities, from ‘traditional Scouting skills’ such as camping and bushcraft, through to more extreme challenges such as absei

ling, overnight hiking, rafting, canoeing, canyoning, snow activities, rock climbing, sailing… even flying! Scouts can get involved in performing arts, leadership development, community service, amateur radio operation, environmental projects, large-scale Australian events such as Cuborees, Jamborees and Ventures, international events, and service projects in developing countries. Scouts also learn valuable practical skills such as first aid and cooking… and fun skills, like how to build a ballista and fire wet sponges at their mates! Scouts Australia’s ongoing success is due to enthusiastic and committed adult volunteers from all walks of life who love adventure and take great pride in encouraging our young Aussies to reach their full potential. Want to share the adventure? For more information, visit the Scouts Australia website or freecall 1800 SCOUTS.

Scouts from 2nd Colac Sea Scout Group put their communication skills to the test with a unique drawing challenge!

Split into two teams, the Scouts used CB radios to guide each other through a planned route, creating drawings without seeing the final picture until the end.

Team One successfully directed Team Two to draw a dog 🐕 — it was only missing the ears! Meanwhile, a missed direction from Team Two meant Team One's attempt at a dumbbell was a little harder to recognise.

😄A fun activity that challenged teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills while proving that every instruction counts! Well Done Scouts!

Scouts and Venturer Scouts from Beenleigh Scout Group, Scouts Queensland recently had a fantastic opportunity to learn all about radio, magnetism, and resonance thanks to two very special visitors, Mike and John from the Southside Amateur Radio Society Inc.

The Scouts thoroughly enjoyed the engaging presentation and hands-on demonstrations, which brought these fascinating scientific principles to life and sparked curiosity about science and technology.

A big thank you to our Leaders and helpers for organising and running such a fantastic program, and a special shout-out to Mike and John for generously sharing their knowledge and experiences. Your enthusiasm helped inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

As Scouts, we promise to contribute to our community and our world, and to help other people.

This National Blood Donor Week (8–14 June), we recognise those who live that promise through the generous act of donating blood to help save lives.

A special congratulations to Neville Tomkins AM JP from Scouts Australia (ACT Branch), who has reached the extraordinary milestone of 600 blood donations - the highest in the ACT, and one of only 100 Australians to achieve this remarkable accomplishment.

Thank you to all blood donors who continue to make a difference in the lives of others through their generosity and service.

The outdoors is at the heart of Scouting — from hiking and paddling to camping under the stars, learning new skills, and exploring the natural world. 🌏

Through these adventures, young people develop a greater appreciation for the environment and gain a deeper understanding of their role in protecting it. Across Australia, Scout Groups are taking action through community clean-up events, tree planting projects, recycling programs, sustainable outdoor practices, and local conservation efforts that make a positive difference.

Scouts Australia remains committed to empowering young people to care for the environment and find innovative ways to protect our planet for generations to come.

Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.
